Hi Neil, I just got released yesterday from hospital in Manhattan after having my prostatectomy, robotic surgery. They only kept me overnight. Gas pains seem to be worse than the incision/wound pain. I’m going to check into why I have to remove my catheter in 7 days instead of 14. Maybe in Europe they want more healing to the severed urethra, or in the U.S. they use a different type of balloon bladder device that allows for an easier, early removal. I’m planning on removing my own catheter which is something I was given instructions on by my nurse before discharge. I was given a syringe to withdraw the water and deflate the balloon before pulling it out. Hopefully that’s not too painful and goes uneventful. I’ve been watching your positive videos to help me keep my chin up. Thank you.
