Another great video. I thought the "Do Well " slogan would get it, good slogan . The worst tractor I ever drove was a Ford 5000 ! It had that hydraulic P.T.O. engagement that worked when it felt like it . Waiting at the headland for the P.T.O. to re engage after a tight turn was a nuisance, and the gearbox two gears that were the same ratio? Plus it sounded like a tin man falling down an escalator.

The best thing about being a Mucker is learning about all this old shite, not just from the man himself but all the really smart f*ckers in the comment section. I live in the city. I’ve never driven a tractor so to see these things taken apart and learn how they work mechanically is really a treat for me. One of my top three channels on KZfaq and the one dude I would most like to sit down and have a beer with.

Worst one I drove as a tractor is wasn't a bad tractor and was nice to drive in a large field other than some of the control linkage was worn out but for our yard it was a pain in the arse unlike our Ford 6610 or 4600 you couldn't drive into any of the buildings and the park the trailed implement on the back you had to reverse the thing in as it was to our set up massive and that is the JD3650. Don't get me wrong for a lot it would be perfect and if I was pulling a poorly braked loaded grain trailer I would prefer the size and weight of that but for maneuverability in our yard and versatility for our operation and a similar HP at least on paper I prefer our Kubota M5-111.

Honestly, my favorite AND worst tractor I've driven is my Papa's Ford 2N with the Sherman transmission. When I was a kid, we had to rebuild the engine after it threw a rod. It still has the patch in the side of the block. No live PTO made mowing an adventure. It had a problem stopping for the longest time. You had to stand on the clutch and brakes to get it to stop. One time it drove through a fence with my dad on it. He never got back on it. After that, we found the clutch lever on the transmission was slightly bent inward. Fixed that and no more stopping issue. He also had something called a "Jang Thang." It was some custom draft control device. It had a linkage that connected the draft lever to the 3-point. When the arms would bleed off, it would automatically pull the lever back to the hight you set it. Made mowing not terrible. It is by far the sketchiest tractor I've ever driven, but I love that thing.

Allis Chalmers WC 1939. I was 10 , the tractor was a hand full with the hand breaks, crank start, leg too short to reach the clutch pedal, no power steering for sure but, I managed to get the fields mowed This all happened in 1961 or so.

I'm new to tractors maybe 2yrs. I have a ford 3600 in progress. And a massey 35 in progress. Drove a lot of trucks however. The worst by a million miles had to be the leyland FG. the threepenny bit cab . No, ps. No servo brakes . No suspension. I get pains in my arse and shoulders thinking about it. And that was back in the 80's. Keep up the great craic. Love the videos. And comments

Worst tractor has to be a 2wd 5640 it just seems to be a capable size tractor with no real motivation to do much. That being said id never turn down and hour or two in the seat. The favourite has to be a toss up between the JD’s 2250 or 6400. Great channel

Had to use a merlo 27.7 and these are usually a good handler but not this one. The knob on the top of the joystick was duct taped on and to get the boom to come back in you had to wriggle it to just the right spot. On top of that the tyres were basically slicks and the driver before me used the dodgy gear Change switch causing it to jump into neutral and take off down the hill on me when I changed it back and that was not to mention the grain bucket I was given to shovel rocks with

I'm very much along the same lines as you for agri and aviation. We had Ford 3000 and a big wheel 4000 and MF 135 and 165 but my favourite was the DB 1390 4wd. It was the first big tractor I had seen and driven. As for aviation, of all the flying I have done gliding rings my bell but every type and style of flying is awesome whether it be in a Chipmunk, HS125, Puma helicopter low-level over Salisbury Plain etc etc etc. If I had to chose one last flight it would be a glider.

The tractor I can remember hating the most was a 1210 we had for years. It was actually a good yoke but I hated it at the time cos it had no power steering and it was slow on the road. A little MF diesel 4 wheel drive compact (about 2002) on turf tyres and fitted with a powerful loader that could lift too high, big bucket and a good sized backhoe. Hydro transmission (very sensitive and too fast) very light and quick power steering and as tight wheel widths as possible. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen how many times I have seen it on three wheels driving over a brick sized stone and 4 times (in one year) parked rolled over on its side. Due to all the weight on the back end it could push for England hence frequently being overloaded and inherently unstable.

The absolute worst tractor I ever owned or drove was a Case MX135. It was an absolute pile of chalky white barker's eggs. It was bought for a specific job which it never actually did. During the 11 months I had it, the contents of the front axle turned to metallic silver paint twice, it overheated if you even spoke of work anywhere near it and the ergonomics of the cab were designed by a blind, one-armed contortionist with some kind of intellectual impairment. It was just awful. The day it went it had to be winched on to the lorry. I often wondered why Case drivers liked to wear arseless leather chaps, Now I know because to buy one of their heaps you must really enjoy getting taken against your will from behind. It was supposed to replace a 272 Leyland which was a far superior tractor in every way.

Not really driven any tractors but have driven a DUKW amphibious "thing" and without a doubt that was the hardest and worst thing to try to control the world has ever seen, in my opinion. Almost 3/4 of a turn in the steering wheel before anything actually happened then it was like wrestling an amorous silverback to try to get the steering to move.

Worst tractor I ever drove was an International 5288, I had watched it working on a local farm for a fair part of my childhood and for many years it was the biggest and most impressive piece of kit around our area. Fast forward to a about 3-4 years ago and I did a harvest season working for that farm and ended up driving the old international and it was definitely a case of “don’t meet your heroes” the cab was uncomfortable with controls that would have been better laid out if you stuck them up your nose and sneezed, and it was such a big cumbersome lump with relatively poor steering lock so headland turns or farmyard manoeuvring weren’t particularly impressive either.

Mine would be an old Ford 8N. The farmer had bailer twin for the throttle. Had a smaller steering wheel off a car on it, made it hard as hell to steer. And to top it off, a bent front wheel. I driven good Ford 8N's, but that was the worst.

Well your Lordship another interesting video this week and when I was working on the farm back in my youth I really have no complaints about the tractors 🚜 that I drove, however there was one vehicle that I did drive and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever and it was the MK 2 Vauxhall combo van and after I had taken one of those from where I live in Gloucestershire to a delivery point in Scotland and back(16hrs or so total time traveling) my knees were absolutely stiff as a stiff thing could be, nothing wrong in were I went but oh boy it really wasn’t suited to long distance trips. Oh one thing though Mucker I am also subscribed to Torquing point and I saw 👀 the video on the combine harvester and very interesting it was too and until next time TaRa for a bit.(p.s you did ask the question).

Not had much experience with tractors. I got to drive an old Massey ferguson some years back, and I drove a small Kabota tractor and trailer for around a year when working in a park. The worst car i drove was a Vauxhall Viva, I was a young lad at a car auction. I seen this White Viva with the firensa body shape. I thought cool i have to have it. So driving it home it starts to rattle, damn that doesn't sound right. Then boom it stops dead. There was no garentee with this car, sold as seen. I think it had been doctored up to get through the auction lol. My friends had a good laugh at my expense 😬 I ended up buying an old British rail HA van for the engine. We managed to get the Viva going again, however on closer inspection the car was a pile of SxxT. Got rid off soon after. We live and learn 🤣 . Got the mug and stickers recently, quality stuff. Either bunny sticker on the back of my 1999 Mk3 golf diesel estate. Ive had for nearly eleven years. Its been better than the Viva lol 😆 Great video, all interesting stuff.

International 574 with a high speed gear box(25 mph),slow by today's standard but it had full hydrostatic steering which had no feel and was incredibly light and twitchy, all you need with a 10 ton carrot trailer on the back. 😖👀

Don't really have a worst tractor pick up tho got to be Navara D40 would boil water like a kettle and blow fuel pumps and chain's for fun or just snap in half for the fun. Nice job on the fordson brakes.👍

This might be unpopular but the worst tractor I've driven was a John deere 7800, the clutch was serious jumpy and I couldn't get my head around the gears. Maybe I'm a bit simple after being in a Leyland for so long, who knows.

Zulu’s to the southwest thousands of them!! One of my favorite movies 😂. Always a 👍 up in support from me in Tennessee. You are real and stay that way. I was hammering away on a lawnmower axle trying to get the wheel off with a 3 LB hand sledge and missed ,hit tire and like to beat myself unconscious before getting control again. So yeah crap happens sometimes. Hope your face heals quickly. I have a new holland 1720 that is so handy to get in tight places. Fairly strong and tough little machine. 🍻I can’t think of any bad tractors that I’ve drove. Oh well be well.

Great content as usual not really got a worst tractor but 2 come to mind ford 4610 hated the shift pattern on column change and major so worn on steering when on road had to have foot on steering rod to take up slack can get a pint up here in NEscotlland at last but need thermal boiler suit

Belarus tractor the first ones that came into the UK . They just were Dogs the bloke I worked for then brought one because the were cheap. But they pulled great for plowing but it had sort of bench seat and you slid all over the place on rough ground and the springs on it would nearly throw into the roof. 1980s ones

Right on, top video as always. I agree with you on the V8, makes my series 2 a lot more fun to. I would say the worst one I have driven was a Norwegian MF 165 aircraft tow tractor, it took about 30 minutes of lever selection to get the automatic transmission to select. And then it really struggled to move a 16 ton helicopter smoothly and not jerk the undercarriage off.🤣🚜🤣

Without doubt it was a Belarus, it was left in the field to load bales onto the trailer when bale carting. It was a miserable experience.

Case 4240 for me as well exhaust u can’t see around jolty bouncy thing shitty gear ratios for pto work too high geared for not enough revs n on low profile cab a radio that u either hit or ate up what cab space u had next to the seat was trying to be an 844 but ended up being useless

Great video mucker. Always like them 👍. Worst tractor when I was driving them must be a David Brown 990. Slow and noisy gearbox and complicated hydraulics but a great pulling engine. 🚜.do well 👌

My McCormick Deering W30 built in 1939 is not good to drive, no brakes, crank to start, slow, hard to steer but it is fun. You have to have respect for the blokes who used them when they were current and they were a good tractor in their day and very popular. The worst tractor I know of but never drove was a 90HP Belarus Shit Box. The Shit Box series where particularly bad. It finally came to a shuddering halt when it got a leg out of bed punching the starter motor off and sending it across the paddock in the process. I don’t think they even made very good boat anchors and should have been left in Siberia. Jeff
