I just ended the reading of "The Splendid and the Vile" (today is February 18th, 2021) and I can already assure you: this book will be between my BEST readings of the year! I want to read everything Erik Larson already wrote. Great great book!! Greeting from Rio, BRAZIL.

This Mr. Larson´s book means really a new way to approach the III Reich phenomena. As a good reader of this subject, I thank and congratulate the author because with this work adds something very hard to get on the matter: freshness and with it a better understanding of the major issue that this events are in modern history.

The author should include more photos. Some readers are more visually oriented and are better able to remember names and events, when they can associate a face with them.

Don't you guys hate it when your professor makes you watch an hour long interview? Sigh...

Judging the events of over 70 years with today's eyes is not very illuminating. The interviewer strikes me as being not very current on the subject.

Very disappointing book. Does not live up to its premise; not much is fleshed out. I am particularly dismayed with the whitewashing of the Gestapo chief. Waste of time and money.
