I think I did. They were the parents I needed. Not everyone can say that. Maybe they recognized their own selves in my words or actions. I'm very opinionated at times and my beliefs are deep and strong. Sharing beliefs was never discouraged or my beliefs poo pooed. At times that was an obstacle, such as at work. In my mind I thought "if I dont feel the need to hold back at home (because my father was a strong presence " then I could approach others in the same manner🤔

Hearing Alex talk about being the Dad he never had reminds me of my Daddy and makes me miss him so so much. My Daddy raised 3 girls alone and was everything to us. He fought as long as he did for his daughters and grand babies. I say all that to say well done to Alex, your kiddos will treasure the memories made with you both. I love watching you two together. Love that Alex spends time with the kids too! My 2 boys had a dad that was never around, he did not spend time with them. Now they are the opposite, and love to spend time with their kids. They too know what it's like to not have a dad present.

Congrats on the house!! I’m so excited for you! We have been slowly buying a few things a month since June for Christmas so that way we aren’t overwhelmed closer to Christmas.
