I believe Najib long ago thought of himself as a lord of this land. This could well be shown by his showing of the keris to threaten the Chinese people during a rally at the TPCA stadium because that's how he knew to protect his belongings. Therefore, he has gone about doing things as he saw fit in the belief that the country belongs at least in part to him. The PM post guarantees his belief.
