I never had kids either and don’t regret it…my husband’s adopted son lived with us and it was hard. Raising kids is very hard with the challenges of social media, etc. Now we can travel and it is great!

Crystal! I’d love to hear a pros and cons, how to maintain a boat video. I’ve always wanted one but I’d like to learn more about it. My hubby and I never wanted kids either. So I get you, girl. 😍

Not sure there's enough to show in a video without us actually having a boat. :) Pros would be, if you're going to use the boat a lot, it's worth it. Cons are cleaning it every time you pull it out of the water after use. Must be done though to keep the boat looking nice and maintained. A lot of miscellaneous expenses go with owning a boat.

I have only one son (he’s 13 now) and it is a miracle that I had him. With health issue I’m not able to have any more kids. I have so many people telling me I need more kids. They say if something happens to you your son will need someone to have in his life. I’m like I’m not having a kid just in case something happens to me. It drives me crazy. I knew I wanted kids, but later in life. I’m thankful for him... and I’m blessed he is a great kid, but drives me crazy when others they to tell people they need kids. I love my son and wouldn’t trade him for the world, but this crazy world scares me for my son to grow up in. Loved your video. I loved the cruise video too. I found one of your videos about cruise before I took my first cruise and it helped me a lot.

I understand the kid thing. I’m 33 and my husband and I don’t have kids. Once I hit my early 30’s people felt very passionate that I should have kids. I felt like everyone was always asking me. Im a hairstylist so generally it was a lot of my clients and co workers. I think many people assumed as soon as I got married I should have a kid. For us right now we just don’t know. We haven’t closed the door but we are not trying either. You definitely feel judged though when you tell people you are not sure if you want them. Interesting thing my husband doesn’t get near the pressure I do.

My husband and I were together for 13 years and never wanted kids. I got pregnant while on the pill and was in absolute shock. I was 38. That was 2 years ago and I am now 3 months pregnant with our second and turned 40 a couple of months ago. I never wanted kids and was perfectly happy with my life...But...now that i'm a mom I can't imagine not being one and it has been the best experience of my life. Maybe because I am older?

Thank you for your comments on not having children, etc. I have been asked those questions for many years and am at the point I want to say, “Please don’t ask, that is a personal matter”. Also, when someone is trying to describe my husband and I they add, “they don’t have children”. How is that any different than labeling someone because of culture, ethnicity, etc? Finally, many years ago I expressed to a colleague that I do not express my opinion about children and she said something that has stayed with me, “It doesn’t take a carpenter to know a good table”. We've talked about it. I would love to see the smaller cities but don't think we'd enjoy the cramped quarters of the actual boat. Yes, it's a boat and not a ship in this instance, lol. It's a much older crowd from what I've been told as well.

It depends. Sometimes it’s shoes I want to wear and I’ll plan around it. Sometimes it’s another piece of clothing. And other times it’s just an overall look I want. 😊

I get the “why no kids” question too. I’m 51 and I ALWAYS knew I didn’t want kids. I LOVE kids, but it’s not for me. We also get, why aren’t you married. We’ve been together for 25 years, again, no desire to get married. So now when people ask, I just say, as soon as he agrees to take MY last name, we’ll get married..😂😂. You should see the look on their faces, but it shuts them up!

I am 61. I have 3 children, my husband has 2. I have never got why people insist others have children. I am very much of the philosophy that you can have an enriched life without children. Good for you! I never wondered if you had a husband or kids...I am too busy looking at your flawless complexion and envying your perfect makeup application.

I respect the fact that you don’t vlog, don’t share your husband’s info or pics- people put way too much info out in social media. I agree that it often does come across as unprofessional and can change the way you feel about someone, I unsubscribed and stopped watching several people after seeing them share too much on KZfaq and Instagram. I think it also makes viewers feel like they “know” you when they really don’t-which leads to them overstepping their boundaries and asking things that are none of their business because of their perceived close “relationship”. Agree with you on cruises being a time to go off the grid. I miss the days when the wifi and apps weren’t even an option because even if you dont want to be on you phone, eveyone else is still walking around with theirs and it feels like less of an escape. We like to put the phone in the safe and not touch it for the duration! Going on our first Princess cruise on Regal Princess in a couple weeks and cant wait to try it from your recommendations! Enjoyed the video!

I’m the same as you Crystal, no kids. I love kids and have 3 sisters and lots of nieces and nephews. I loved my career and worked abroad in Spain and Germany. And was so busy with that the time just flew by. I avoid sitting on a big table when on a cruise because it’s one of the questions and then an awkward silence? What do you say to people as I’m sure you get it too? It’s not that I never wanted kids, I just never had this strong desire to have any. I keep adding to my list of things to buy when I visit the USA from your channel. I’m from uk. Love your channel. Xx

Thanks for sharing!!! I don't have kids either but thankfully i don't get asked too too much about it. I get what you mean about working outside the home, I haven't worked in about 10 years and definitely miss the comradery and friendships at the workplace and sometimes think about going back to work just for those reasons. I had to laugh about the bunny, we had a similar thing with a set of racoons that would come hang out and then I started getting obsessed with them and would fret when I hadn't seen them in a while so I know what you are talking about :)

Too funny about the raccoons! I told my Husband it was almost easier when the bunny didn't come around so I didn't have to worry about him. One day he was getting rained on and it broke my heart, lol. Silly since he obviously lives outside all the time. :)

I loved this video (I really enjoy all your videos). My husband and I are wanting to go on an Alaskan cruise. I'd like to know your opinion as to what amount of money we should expect to pay. We want to do everything we can on this trip. We need a cabin with a balcony due to my husband's health. issues. Thank you for all your wonderful and informative videos.

It really depends on who you cruise with and when you book. You'll find Alaskan cruises are more expensive typically than others. They are the most popular and sell out quickly. Sometimes you can find last minute deals though. The excursions are worth it but some are extremely pricey. So it really depends on how much you're wanting to spend and what you want to see. I don't do helicopters but that is a popular one but pricey.

I'm not sure what you mean. I buy and show my favorites all the time. I don't just buy any makeup just for a haul though. If you watch my Monthly Favorites videos, you'll see I show a good mix of higher and drugstore products.

I totally understand the working from home thing. I’ve been working from home for a few years now. I pretty much live in workout clothes now. It’s so convenient and I’m very grateful for my job but I miss seeing my coworkers and dressing up. I’m the same way with friends. I only have a few. Having a lot of friends and social events kinda stresses me out to be honest.

My tween already says she doesn't want kids and people are already telling her she will change her mind later. I told her if she changes her mind, great, if she doesn't, great. She doesn't have to have kids. I still get asked if I'm having more. My girls are eleven and five. I get annoyed that others think they get an opinion on your family choices. Anyway, good for you for sticking to your choice and not having kids.

Hi Crystal, I am a longtime subscriber who has always loved your videos. My question for your next video is how do you keep the desire to shop for clothes in check? I like to think that I am more of a minimalist but I find myself always finding something new to shop for! For example I bought the New Balance tennis shoes you showed on Facebook even though I wasn’t even in the market for tennis shoes! I don’t spend money I don’t have but I kind of feel selfish always wanting to shop. I am coming to the conclusion that humans must have a hunter/gatherer gene that persists even in modern day living.. I enjoyed this video, I can relate to being more of a private person with few friends. I have also moved often because of my husband’s job which makes it even harder to maintain friendships. In all honesty I enjoy my husband’s company the best and when I have made friends they often end up annoying me! I know that’s more of a reflection on me but it’s the truth. Thanks for sharing.

Lol, no worries. I relate to what you said. I also enjoy my Husband's company and find a lot of "friends" too exhausting. I like easy friendships. It shouldn't be that hard on either side. I'll go ahead and answer your other question here. I highly recommend reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Condo. There's a lot of buzz about her Netflix show right now, but I believe you get more out of the book. It's really helped me not shop as much and truly enjoy what I have. Having too much of anything gives me anxiety. I really only shop a lot about twice a year. Spring is a big one for me. A lot use KZfaq and Instagram as an excuse as their job to shop more and show more. I just can't do that. It feels unnatural and wasteful. I try to only share when I buy something or when something is on sale so you can get a good deal. Hope this helps!

I'm totally with you on the no having kids. My husband and I both never had any interest. The age difference between myself and my husband is about the same as you (he's 7.5 years older than me). We've been married for 8 years (anniversary in April as well). We've had a boat together, two different ones over the past 10 years & love it! I feel like I'd really miss it in the summer if we didn't get out on the water. We also love cruising! It was great to see this Q&A! Love your videos!

We were spoiled in FL not having to drive far to put the boat in the water. Around here the nicer lakes are a little further out and the river is just gross, lol.

thanks for being real about the kid thing. We also don't have kids and just never wanted to have kids. In the south people look at you sideways and sometimes treat you like your weird or selfish! I love seeing others live their truth and be honest about it. It makes some us feel like we aren't alone in our decisions! My husband and I love to travel too. Wish we could do it more often!

Hi, it's not cheaper because they are a US Virgin Island. The store is smaller and has great service. Their selection is usually pretty good as well.

Hey Miss Crystal thank you for the whole kid thing I am 37 and I get the ugliest looks when I tell folks we choose to not have children. My mom is still mad at me. I work from home to and I totally miss having those work friendships. I was always a prankster messing with my bosses or just creating parties and celebrations to get everyone laughing and smiling. But I do love not having to get up at 4am to get ready and not getting home till after 6pm. Love your channel your a true southern belle 💜

Understand the child thing, I don’t have any and never wanted them. However, my BF has two fantastic grown boys that I adore, so I get the best of it 🤗

I think it is brave of you to not fall into the pressure of having kids. While they are a blessing, they are all consuming. Worry when their sick, worry about school, worry about money, making time for yourself, making time for your husband, driving kids to all their activities, making healthy meals...

Lol, true, but that doesn't mean they should. For some I think it's better to keep their mind active. I've seen others retire early and it's not good.

I have always known I did not want kids. Since I knew what kids were haha. I am currently 25 years old and still have no intention of it. I still get told “you will change your mind” I always say well it’s been at least 10 years and I still have no desire haha.

I think some say you'll change your mind because that's what happened to them. It doesn't happen to everyone though. You'll know if you want them or not. :)

I bet it's totally annoying answering to people that ask "why don't you have any children"? We only have one child and it's annoying to me when folks ask " Why didn't you have another"? All I can say is "wow"!!

Hi there, I’ve just always known I didn’t want kids. I got married at 27, so at least by 30 I knew for sure. No, our families never pressured us because we were always up front about not wanting kids.
