Okay so l got accepted for a Bachelors which l am taking in English.Do l automatically get a scholarship as an African student under the scholarship for Africans ?And also what does the scholarship cover

hey there! really helpful video. i was wondering if i could benefit from the differential tuition fees as an international student but my highschool discontinued teaching french after the 6th grade. i have been learning french on my own so would it be possible to be in the FI program if i only have to pass the test (after accepting the offer) ?

i've been really hopeful to get the scholarship for a year now but i've only just learnt about the french subject in highscool , it's the only thing holding me back .. would really appreciate any good news!!

When are fall 2021 students expected to take the French Immersion's proficiency test? Can they take the exam before starting their education at Ottawa?

Hi! They should take the exam before they start their first year. You can do it as soon as you have received an offer from uOttawa. olbi.uottawa.ca/tests/immersion-admission-test

Can we still enter the French immersion program in uOttawa even if we don’t speak French, but are learning?

The French Immersion stream is meant for students who have previously learnt French at their high school either through a core French, French Immersion or extended French stream. If you are learning French you can still take French as a second language courses which start from the very basics of French but you won't be able to enrol in the FI stream as you would have to pass the French proficiency test.

Hi Johnny! You can add French Immersion onto your program if it is offered. Please contact immersion@uOttawa.ca for more information on how to add it. Hope this helps!
