I love how you mentioned that you’re letting go of aesthetics and just creating a warm comfy environment for your baby. Thank you for that because sometimes a lot of us moms need that reminder that a life doesn’t have to be picture perfect as long as we have our children growing healthy, and we are guiding them in the Lord’s path. That should be all that matters.❤

My 4 year old grandson lives in Norway and he is already fluent in both English and Norwegian. They soak it up like a sponge if you consistently just talk to them in both languages. It's an incredible advantage for their future. All the very best with everything Ash xx

My husband speaks Spanish and I don’t. My husband speaks 100% Spanish to my two little ones (3 & 1) and my oldest is 100% bilingual! He loves having this special language with his Papá. :)

Hey Ashley, I‘m from Germany and you truly inspire me in my walk of faith. I‘m 23 and pregnant too, last year I married my husband and I‘m so grateful for him and our christ centered (at least we try) marriage. Thansk for sharing your thoughts, I‘m also done with the asthetic nursery room because this Vers in Psalm 199,37 “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity, And quicken me in thy ways.“ just showed me how I focused on things that don‘t really matter. Greetings from Germany, I wish you a great pregnancy and birth🤍

I totally agree with your nursery plan! An elaborately designed room is not at all necessary. Just a clean cozy calm space for you and Jonny to care for little baby boy in. I didn’t do any fancy nursery stuff either for our two sons. The first one had their own little room which I lightly decorated in Classic Pooh style but it wasn’t elaborate. Then our second one was in our bedroom until he was big enough to move into the bottom bunk of his big brother’s bunk bed in his bedroom. The boys just finally got their own rooms last spring after sharing a bedroom for about 6 years! They are both so happy to have their own spaces especially our 18 year old! Lol!

I used to be a low energy person too, until I started eating a Weston Price diet. I healed my chronic eczema and now have way more energy.

For bilingual schooling in the future, keep an eye out for two-way immersion programs, intended for half native Spanish speakers and half native English speakers. I'm not sure how common they are, but I had a professor in my foreign language ed program who teaches in a two-way immersion school. It's a really cool environment because everyone is learning from everyone and being exposed to authentic language and culture.

We’re interracial and I speak Spanish to him while my husband speaks English and is learning Spanish too! It’s been amazing! Also if they’re learning two languages it’ll take a little longer for them to talk! So don’t worry about that! I was so worried when my son was taking longer than my friends kids and the doctor said bilingual kids take a little longer to start talking.

I think it’s amazing that you both appreciate and want to continue with the Spanish language. It’s important to expose early and I like that you mentioned being intentional :) I’m thankful my mom did and I can still connect with my roots and I can successfully say I’m not a no sabo kid haha

I have a 8 month old and a 4&5 year girls. None of them have had a nursery. It is a waste of money. You will see that the baby will end up sleeping with you in your room for the first year. My older girls really didn’t sleep in their room till they were around 3. That’s when we started decorating something cute for them.

I found out I have a low energy level through my marriage counseling and this was a concern of mine too so relieving to hear you’re the same and your outlook on that for motherhood. Also refreshing to hear you say it’s not worth it spending tons of money on nursery stuff because I feel like a lot of new moms go all out on baby stuff and make it so much more expensive than it has to be!

You don’t need an aesthetic nursery! You could even do your own wall mural or some small artworks on the wall for the nursery if you have the energy. Not sure how you’re doing with your art while you’re pregnant. 💖

Hiii! So excited I came across your guys channel! Congrats on this chapter in your life. Not trying to make this about me but I'm also pregnant so if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here. This will be my third child hehe Besides all that, I wanted to share a wonderful book recommendation for you, It's called "The Art of Parenting: Aiming Your Child's Heart toward God" by Dennis Rainey and Barbara Rainey. It really helped me in so many ways! I've read it multiple times too and God always reveals new things I may of missed the first time I read it.
