I paid around 1500 euro above retail for my Rolex 4 weeks ago. I found that to be a reasonable amount. Yes I like to pay retail as well. But the AD route (despite buying history and visits etc) did not pay out. I rather pay a bit extra then kiss a salesmen ass for an X period of time and build a relationship’ I give absolutely nothing about. So I am happy with my grey market purchase.

Hi Tony As usual loved the video, haven’t been watching a lot so have to catch-up. Just let you know I ended up buying an older model sub 114060, I’m turning 60 this year so I want to enjoy the watch now, if I get offered one new I can always sell this one. Keep up the great videos 👍

Tony, thanks for answering my question on the watch ball this evening, I should’ve been more direct on what watch I was looking for. My grail watch now is the green sky dweller. I’m sure it’s going to be very sought after and I think you’re right it’s gonna take quite some time for me to get. I have a very good AD but I’m sure he has clients higher up the pecking order than me. another thing is, I think you’re right on turning down the Wimbolton, because last year, I turn down the mint green day just, which is very hard to get. and a month later I got the Daytona in two tone. and one last thing remember the bigger you get you’re gonna come across an asshole they’re always out there. Not only does Rolex have stock they always have to keep a certain amount of watches in stock until a new shipment comes in and they also have discontinued watches still in stock sometimes

I have only good things to say about one of my local AD, props to Chateau d'Ivoire, the service is exceptional and they are very honest they'll tell you how things are without being too stuffy. But I've seen the worst; in another AD and I won't name names, employee a 20 something asked me if I was there "to buy a real watch", I had a vintage VC ufo. He didn't even knew what it was (and wasn't interested to know) I was extremely down after that. Down to leave and never come back! 😢😅

I say if your starting a relationship don’t even come in asking about watches, go in around every holiday/ birthday and purchase jewelry for your gf,wife,mom or even sister and I say that because that’s most likely what your gonna be doing for most gifts anyway when it comes to women and it doesn’t have to be the money expensive jewelry. Let that lead you into the watches you want. Also if you have friends that are interested in watches maybe two of you do this a build a sales history with a group of friends but don’t tell the AD your doing this and get watches you guys want one by one.

I was told that the AD in Athens/Greece said they have no list and just sell watches to anyone who walks in and asks after they get a delivery!

Hi Tony love your channel! I was wondering if you can help me with what I should do with my situation with my AD. To make a long story short , I went into my local Rolex AD looking to buy my first Rolex but there was no availability but I ended up buying a Rolex for my lady instead. Which was over 10k. This was in November of 2022. I am on a waitlist for 36mm or 41mm Green dial fluted bezel . How much longer do you think before it becomes available? My AD did reached out to me in April to keep me updated. Thank, Jerry.

Love that rant, money isn’t the issue, that guy won’t get any Rolex from an AD because they can sniff out assholes. They have no problems selling Rolex, why would they give a genuinely bad person what they want? Everything in life starts with the attitude and NOTHING good ever will come to that person with that shit attitude. Kick him to the curb and move on. He’s not even worth 5 seconds of your time.

Your videos are all refreshing and honest. After my recent run of 4 amazing Rolex purchases from my AD, I asked him if there was anything I could do and all he asked for - in a humble fashion - was for a Google review.

Hi Tony great video, I’ve turned down the Rolex 126600 from my AD as i purchased something else. Hopefully honesty pays. After all we are not a flipper making a quick buck. Tony I guess a keyboard worrier being an ass, if he needs to put his name down at five AD’s he’ll need to wait, I,m sure a week for a response from you would be way quicker than an AD phone call 😅😅😅😅😅

Was a very good video before the rant. But, the rant made it exquisite. Can’t count the number of similar exchanges I’ve had with these sorts of ballbags who think having 13k makes them the prom king, and cue all AD suitors swooning accordingly.

Hey Tony, love your straight talk. I'm a very recent watch enthusiast. I bought a Tudor BB58 and a Reverso Duoface Tribute from the same AD within 2 months, and I have always wanted an Explorer 36mm. That boutique promised me one by the end of the year, so I was happily waiting. But my wife found out how I love to get a Rolex, so she encouraged me to visit more Rolex stores and put my name down. I did, and within a week, I got a call from one of those boutiques, and I purchased it. I felt so blessed! Now I feel like I cheated on the first AD because I shared many wonderful moments with the staffs there about watches, but at the same time readily bought from another. I updated them about this purchase in an email and they were regretful because they had that same watch allocated to me the very next week! Am I wrong to come back to them like that? Should I only have one AD? On one hand it is just commercial, aka I wanted a watch so I bought from whoever offered it to me first, but after the initial flurry of excitement, I do feel like I neglected the connection, comradeship, or shared love for watches I had with the staff at the first boutique. I know they tried hard to source one for me, but honestly I didn't know or they couldn't reach out to me in time. Anyway, wife told me I was right telling them that, so they could take my name off the list, but I do feel bad for some reason. Am I overthinking it?

Is it worth building a relationship with bhindi? Will it even be likely to end up getting a change at a ss Daytona/GMT if I buy PM pieces with them to start?

However they are being somewhat difficult to sell me a Rolex even after purchasing a Tudor Panda and reverse Panda. I contact them every 2 weeks whether it’s by phone or visiting the location. I also told them I’m flexible. Daytona , GMT, Skydweller, Yachtmaster or OP. Any advice Tony? I always speak to them politely. I see at least 30+ exhibition watches on display and notice like the Panda Daytona isn’t there anymore from a month ago visit , when I went in there this week. You think these ADs selling certain exhibition watches or placing them in used Rolex section?
