Sins of the flesh are like stray dogs as long as you feed them they will hang around your house. As soon as you starve them they will leave. If they come back remember to not feed them . Even if you think they are cute . Stray dogs will bite you.

Jaime T Rubio III Jesus died for our sins, on account of his own sacrifice not based off of us earning it or being good enough, it was done as an act of grace, and love. So if we wouldn’t have made the cut in the first place to have earned it than how can we lose that salvation by not measuring up?

@s h they were never believers to begin with, the Bible is clear that a born again, spirit filled, child of God, WILL NOT LEAVE THE FAITH. If a “Christian” leaves the faith, they were never with us in the faith to begin with. “They went out from us, but THEY WERE NOT OF US; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that THEY WERE NOT ALL OF US.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I've been struggling with alcohol and porn. Everytime I do it I ask for forgiveness. But I feel as though I'm stopping at justification. I know I need to be sanctified. But I feel as though I'm too weak to discipline myself. I want to bring glory to God, I want to live a holy life. But I feel as though I can't. If anybody reads this. Please pray for me. And if you'd like. Give me a piece of advice. Thanks and God bless.

i used to masturbate and i stopped when i got saved but not imiddiatly, i used to be mad at myself for doing it but i can tell you by Gods grace and help i stopped. every time you're tempted think about this: its just temporarly, that feeling will last for a short time and you'll feel bad again. of course you won't stop imiddiatly but i reccomend A LOT of praying, fasting and reading Gods word, listen to worship songs and surround yourself with people who will push you closer to Jesus. satan always plays with your mind and tells you God hates you and can't forgive you bc you've gone too far, BUT THATS NOT TRUE! JESUS LOVES YOU AND FORGIVES ALL OF YOU AND WILL CONTINUE BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS! God bless you and give you strenght to stop in Jesus name, amen ❤

Blood of The King that is absolutely false! What is Christ saying Matthew 25? Does he say oh you were really bad but you know what you're still going to make it? Of course not! He says depart from me sinners, I never knew you! Straight from the mouth of Christ, we must follow in his footsteps. We must depart from iniquity. We cannot be saved and have sin in our lives, we would be at tree that brought forth both good and bad fruit, or a spring with both fresh and saltwater. The Bible says that is not possible.
@rodgerthat3604
@rodgerthat3604 7 жыл бұрын
Derek H. Okay so how long has it been since you've sinned? Just because we are saved does not mean we have any right to sin but guess what we are not perfect ( Jesus is perfect). We do sin but it doesn't mean we have to like it in fact we should hate it.
@derekh.9133
@derekh.9133 7 жыл бұрын
Samantha Campbell let me clarify that statement. Intentional sin is all that I am referring to. We all fall short of the glory of God and why? Because we can still stumble. I don't have all knowledge nor all understanding, therefore it is possible for me to sin unintentionally. That is why Paul says in his letter to the 1Corinthians 4:4 For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. He has a clear conscience, there is no rebellion or guile in him. All sin is wrong doing but not all sin leads to death. Will full wrong doing is what I'm talking about. You mentioned that we hate sin. I would agree that someone who truly hates sin , would not purposely do it. We don't do the things we hate. If you hated roller coasters you wouldn't ride them. If you hated seafood you wouldn't eat it. The point is no one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to sin. People don't accidentally have affairs nor view pornography, nor steal, lie, or murder and so on. Sin is born in the hearts of mankind. People sin because they like to. No one is born in sin, because of Adam. Sin is a choice and that is proven thoughout the Bible. But for the sake of argument look at the first two kids from Adam and Eve, Cain and Able. Able was righteous and Cain wasn't. Cain's heart was wrong. Look at what the lord says to him. Genesis 4:6-7 The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” We have free will. And we have the helper, note he's not a doer. John 16:8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment So, once someone has repented putting to death the deeds of the flesh by the spirit, who is in the world, then after receiving the knowledge of the truth of Christ, the Holy Spirit will come into a person. There are no magical prayers to become saved. In fact God doesn't even listen to someone that sins intentionally. John 9: 31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. If we do what is right we are righteous. No one is clothed in His righteousness. In Rev John states that the saints are clothed in their righteous deeds. I challenge you to read the Bible with a blank mind, forget what you think you know and have been taught by man. No foregone conclusions. The Holy Spirit is the teacher. Read and obey and He will increase your understanding. Thanks for the reply. If you want to reason some more Derekhaskins@charter.net

"Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted." There are consequences to sin, repetative sin especially. I grieve almost daily over what I have done. And I am always comforted by these words of Jesus. True repentance, mourning, grieving, understanding I am utterly morally bankrupt and can do nothing to save myself is so important. Why? To keep us from the self-righteous pride of the Pharisees, to keep us sensitive to his will -- because it is a heart he can work with (a perfect heart, as he said of King David), to mold into the image of his Son, and bring about a life that honors him. My repentance eventually became deep enough, desperate enough, and sincere enough to overcome my wrongdoing. His grace is sufficient through our weakest times!

Because you’re sinful in your very nature and it blinds you to how bad you truly are. It’s OK - you are not alone. The Bible says “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭ It is impossible for man to live right before God. That’s why the cross, and a promise of a new heart. But as we draw closer to God we better understand who He is and who we are. Just as Isaiah exclaimed when he saw the Lords glory “I am undone! … I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips! . Or Peter when he says to Jesus “go away from me Lord, I am a sinful man” … But I can help you. I was addicted for 20+ years. You know how I got free? Reading my Bible. But the key was consistently. Everyday for over 2 months. Gods Word - I think we profoundly underestimate its true power. It can set you free!

The Holy Spirit entered my body. i really felt it when he entered me. i was filled with peace, love and comfort. God shared his love with me and gave me understanding of how much he really loves all of us. God loves the worst person out there. Even a murderer who killed 50 million ppl. God said he loves that person and hes ready to forgive them if only they ask. He's ready and willing to forgive u and remember ur sins no more. It was love that none of us could express. God told me he doesnt want hell for any of us. Hes not mean at all like some of us may see him. He only warns us because he loves us so much and wants us being reconciled back to him. I felt the holy spirit grieve in me. i started weeping nonstop for hours. The Holy Spirit was weeping for all the lost souls. He told me to pray and plead with God for forgiveness, mercy, grace and more time for all the lost sinners. pray that they come into a repentance and God softens their heart. God doesn't want hell for us. He weeps when 1 soul goes to hell. The lil bit of grief he allowed me to feel was too much for me to bear. i told God i cant handle this grief. its too much for me. God took the grief away from me. He just wanted me to know how high, deep and wide his love really is. I had hate for my enemy and unforgiveness but God gave me HIS OWN love for my enemy. And now i have love for my enemy and ive been trying to help him get saved and be reconciled back to God. There's no way u can love ur enemies on ur own. U can only love ur enemies when u SHARE in Gods love 😊💖 God is truly beautiful and he loves you so much. He doesnt want bad for u. He wants u to know and feel how much he loves you and he is for u 😊💖 we may fail God and get mad at him, but God will never fail us and will never leave us. I know this from experience😊 Jesus loves u 💖😊

Thank you for answering, Pastor Keller! In 2012 I suffered a brain aneurism that put me in a coma for 4 weeks. When I regained consciousness, I was told that I said about my wife of 17 years, "I'm not sure who she is, but I think I like her a lot." (And no, I don't recall even SAYING this!!!) To hear my story, search KZfaq for "Charles Frank Kurtz." Then spread word that miracles STILL happen! For me to be alive to say that might not sound like much, but to me and my family, even THAT is a miracle!!!

Actually people! Jesus forgives us for all of our sins....even if we repeat them...the only thing he does not forgive is us turning our backs on him and ignoring him. Some of the prophets sinned...our flesh and our Godly souls are 2 different things...why do you think Jesus died for our sins and suffered so horribly for us...do your research peolple God loves you more than you love him...he loves us deeper than we will ever know or understand...if we don't turn our backs on him...he won't turn his back on us : )

IT is all about what the Son did on the tree. He died for ALL SIN and therefore it is all already forgiven. Sin 100 yrs from now FORGIVEN! What is needed is the act of repentance. NOT repentance out of guilt or shame, yet repentance out of love for God, and the necessity to feel the comfort of that love with no sin in between. At least (For myself) I feel truly forgiven and CAN FORGIVE MYSELF (hard to do) when I repent out of love for HIM. Hope that helps!

You have to dig deep and come clean with God. Until you understand that your sin will lead you to hell, you will continue sinning. Your sin gives you no peace, as you say, and it only drags you further into despair. Put your old man to death and start walking worthy of Christ.

This is a question that I think many Christians have to wrestle with at some point in their lives. And I love the way Tim Keller answered the question. God does not forgive us based on our ability to stop sinning or the rate of our progress, or lack thereof. God forgives us because what Jesus has done and is doing in our lives. He sees his son in us. That isn't an excuse to keep sinning but it should bring us comfort that God can be trusted even when we fail over and over again.

How deep the Father’s love and grace for us. In understanding it, we will not toil to achieve righteousness on our own. “Spotty” repentance, asking for forgiveness over the superficial behaviors is not the aim. Grateful for Tim Keller. I did not earn salvation to begin with. Love that concept.

It is really about understanding grace... If you don't understand that by your own flesh you'll never be able to stop sinning, you will never find the way out, even if you sincerely repent. The only way out is Grace.. it is not you stopping sinning, it is letting God change you. You are not able to change yourself, not because you are bad or evil, but because your flesh is corrupt. You are not your flesh..If people understood this, they could overcome and stop sin... it is grace that stops sin!!

You're either under law or under grace. God is not judging you under grace by your moral performance. He is not waiting to punish you, but to have you develop from your sin. Sin exists, but He does not see it, we are made righteous in Christ. In one man's disobedience all were made sinful, but in one man's obedience we receive the gift of righteousness. If you're wondering why Tim didn't mention a punishment, it's because there isn't one. All of God's wrath was exhausted at the cross for us.

Repentance means to change direction. We repent once. When we do this. Our salvation is secure. As a believer. Our sins keep us from blessings. Our rewards He wants to give. A believer does not lose the free gift of salvation because you continue to sin. We should work on ourselves daily. A believer should be sinning less now then they did when they lived in darkness.

JESUS can set you free if you want to repent and if you want out and give you victory over sin. He can help you to repent and to never go back to it ... if you cry out to GOD in JESUS NAME

The issue I have with Christians saying repetitive sin won’t be forgive don’t look at their own sins. Because if repetitive sin wasn’t forgiven then every Christian would have to become sinless in a short time after being saved, because doing any sin multiple times is repetitive. So if you gossip and never eventually stop it is repetitive. So either you stop sinning or you are wrong.

Jesus died for all sins past presents n future. Only sin is not believing in God thats where free will comes into place we are free to believe in God or not believe in him. Not saying go out n sin because although its forgiven you lose your personal fellowship with God. When we keep asking God for forgiveness you are basically slapping Jesus in the face instead when we sin we should thank God because he is so forgiving

I think one aspect to consider is that sin can also hardened a heart. I believe God recently grabbed my attention over habitual sins by saying we MUST grow. We cannot live forever while embracing whole heartedly pursuing sins. That will absolutely lead to death. You can't commit adultery then ask for forgiveness then commit adultery again every day for the next 70 years until the day you die all the while asking for forgiveness. He can still forgive us and I'm thankful that He does, but He desires that we be trees that product good fruit. We were meant to grow. The tree that does not bear good fruit at SOME point gets plucked up and burned. If we struggle with sin, we can keep grasping for God but let's not embrace the sin. I've done that in the past and He recently shook me up over it. We were meant to grow. Don't just stay stagnant. Fear God, and flee from temptation.

I couldn't agree more with what he's saying. Regardless of the quality of repentance our sin has already been forgiven in Christ. He hits the nail on the head. So why do so many Christians bash on about "repentance" being the currency for salvation. I am convinced that the finished work of Christ before the foundation of the world is inclusive of all men bevause of this very premise. Before we were lost in Adam we were found in Christ. The far reaching work of Christ is effective not bevause it was bought by our choice to "repent" but by His own provision of the second Adam. Just as we had no say in dying bevause of Adams act of disobedience likewise we have no say in the work of sanctification and justification by the one man's obedience. It's a matter of blind eyes being opened so we can believe the facts. God bless guys. The precious blood of Jesus has bought back more than man's organisations will ever have you believe. May you rest and find a peace that surpasses all understanding when you grasp a hold of this truth

God is ready to forgive you as soon as you approach Him in humility, with a repentant heart and a well made up mind, like the prodigal son who came back to his senses and returned to his father (Luke 15:11-24). The key is genuine repentance. That's necessary for forgiveness and to build or restore your relationship with God. Please see the videos in my playlist called _"Be Set Free From Sin"_ for help. Take some time to understand well the way you need to approach God. Your obedience to God is the key to your deliverance from any sin that you are bound in (Hebrews 5:9). Peace to you!

For as Apostle Paul says, “I am the chief of all sinners”
@yestothetruth
@yestothetruth 3 жыл бұрын
Find the verse where he said that and read the verse right after. He saw himself as the biggest sinner of all times, that does not mean as an Apostle he was still "the chief of sinners." His life was transformed in Christ. As a "new creature" in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) he was not still a sinner/rebel/worker of iniquity before God. He had left his life of sin to become a servant of God just like everyone else who turns to Jesus for salvation today must repent and that means submit to God and turn away from sin. The apostle Paul said to the Corinthians, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ" (1 Corinthians 1:11). Christ was not a sinner and if he was imitating Christ, he was abiding in Him and not sinning. The apostle Paul told the believers of Corinth to imitate him and in no way that could mean "Be a sinner like I am (still) the chief of sinners." That's an incorrect reading of the scripture. *1 John 3:6* *Whoever abides in Him [Jesus] does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.*

if left to ourselves, we would inevitably walk away. but the glorious truth is that we are being kept by the precious and powerful work of the Holy Spirit. the Lord will keep all whom the Father gives to him. the Holy Spirit will not only speak to our heart, but will effectually speak to those who have been purchased by the blood of Christ. the book of Hosea is the perfect illustration of how God will save even the most stubborn of us who are as Ephraim spoken of there.

in agreement with the gist of what you are saying. a better way of putting it would be in borrowing from David's own prayer of confession and repentance where he boldly comes to the throne of grace in Ps 51, where one of the consequences of his sin was in being stripped of the joy and gladness of his salvation, he petitions the Lord: Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
