Following the presentation of her latest report to the ‪@unitednations‬ Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, Francesca Albanese, held a press conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 27 March 2024.
The report says that, by analysing the patterns of violence and Israel’s policies in its onslaught on Gaza since 7 October 2023, "there are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating Israel’s commission of genocide is met."
The Human Rights Council is a forum created by sovereign nations for their diplomats to discuss pressing human rights situations. These deliberations are often informed by expertise commissioned from independent experts such as Ms. Albanese. Like other such experts she does not represent the United Nations Secretariat and is not paid by it.

The state of German journalism has truly hit rock bottom. I find myself increasingly questioning the professional competence of German journalists. Their work lacks substance and factual integrity, relying more on cherry-picked words than on comprehensive reporting. Just take a look at the recent question posed by a journalist from Tagesspiegel, insinuating as if any politician ever signed off on a genocide in writing. It didn't happen in Herzegovina, nor did it happen in Rwanda. How far are they willing to distort reality to justify why Germany supported a genocide? It's disheartening to witness such blatant manipulation in the media.

To be fair, the only g3n0c1de that could be said to be “recorded” in the way he presented, was the one committed by the N*zis. And even then, as Albanese said, no one has put it in exactly those terms (g3n0c1de was more of an academic construction when ww2 started, but you can say the phrase “final solution” implied it commission). That being said… his question was stupid for another good reason, which is that the opinions of State’s representatives (PM, HoS, Minister of foreign affairs, military orders) ARE ways to determine the practice of the States, and the latter IS enough evidence. When this officials speak, they can’t say it’s just “their personal opinion” or as a statement with no value, simply because it comes from Statesmans that hold such responsibility and authority. The practice of many states can even become law. So, his question was not only unrealistic, but fundamentally ignorant of international law

So she is already a liar, but let's assume she was right for the sake of argument only. The question is perfectly valid. If you think genocide of 2.2 million people is something that can just happen, spontaneously, or without a careful, elaborate, and documented planning, you're simply stupid, ignorant, and have never been a part of any meaningful project, sorry not sorry. Do you have any idea on the amounts of ammunition, fuel, food, personnel, needed to kill 2.2 million people? Or do you think genocide is magic? Where do these personnel come from? Who pays their salary? who maintains their equipment? Who feeds them? These are all very practical aspects that needed to be well documented in order for an actual genocide to take place, as indeed every single genocide has been in the past 3000 years. So I'm really sorry for you that your and Francesca's plans to falsify a genocide were interrupted by a completely valid reality check that pulled a rug under her feet and exposed her as a liar.

Francesca's obervations and analysis are factually irrefutable. They provide an accurate account of the stated intent promulgated by many high ranking Israeli officials. We really are at a seriously critical juncture. It's either the rule of law that prevails ie international legal obligations that all states that is to say all UN member states cannot derogate from meaning all must uphold international legal norms that serve to promote, protect and ensure.world's peace and security OR the lawless rules based order promoted, imposed and used primarily by the US to go on destabilising and endangering the peace and security of the world's people and their respective nations. Israel could not sustain this level of systemic and systematic savagery without the continued support, protection, funding and arming availed by the US, UK, Canada, Germany, the EU and others.

The UN needs all our support and please fellow Americans complain to your elected officials to refund UNWRA and support UN investigations. Last week's federal budget approved by the House and going to the Senate strips a host of key programs such as funding UNWRA and blocking establishing a Palestinian state. It's not yet approved officially -- that's why it's gone to the Senate. So call your Senators and demand they support UNWRA, a Palestinian state, and key measures such as investigating crimes against Palestinians whose homes and land are stolen (yes, that was proposed in this budget to block this so it is easier for Netanyahu to steal Palestinian land).
