It really warms my heart that Shelly and Jared fought so hard for Harlan. A child they didn't know, who had been dismissed as a bad kid, what absolutely wonderful people to have fought for their son. Harlan has always come across as such a nice, caring and kind person. 💙

I want to see 20 questions about Jared and Shelly i want to know more about thier past, them as people. I feel like the channel mainly focuses on the kids and thats great but the parents matter too and I wanna know more about them and how thy grew up etc.

It is nice to see Harlan in the blog once again, as well as hearing his story about the adoption. I think the so-called experts really need a lesson in human kindness. To say those things about a young boy is horrible and I wonder how many other kids were treated in that fashion. I want to commend Shelly and Jared for the love they showed toward Harlan and the other children they adopted. They are truly special people.

I will never understand why ppl who work in the foster care system and SHOULD understand how difficult that is for the kids and that they’ve been thru hard times and TRAUMA... could still dismiss a child and say they don’t deserve a family!! What a horrible thing for the caseworkers to say about Harlan not "deserving" a family! All kids deserve a family. I remember when Miles left and how sad that whole situation was. I'm glad that Harlan and the girls are all in contact with their sibling still. I'm curious why everyone still calls them Miles though? Harlan looked like he had a hard time not mentioning them when he talked about being in contact with bio family.

There's always new details on Harlan's story whenever you film Q&A with him. For the longest time it was "we fought for him" from Shelly and Jared and "They fought for me" from Harlan and yet it was more touching than that. It was so heart-breaking for kids to go through that but it also reveals good to other people.

I just need to stress out the fact that u, Shelly n Jared are such amazing parents. No matter how old ur children gets/if they decide to spread their wings n venture out of ur household, they often return home to u all because they know where the love is. As for Harlan, I’ve always adored him because he just seems to have a genuine side to him. Also, if I were to have a boy, his name would have been Harlan as well but unfortunately, I had a girl n so I named her after one of my intermediate best friend name Shayna. It’s been almost 31 years now that I had my daughter n she’s the only child that I’ve had lol. Though I’m 55 n she’s about to turn 31 in March n has blessed me with 4 adorable n intelligent grandkids, we’re still close n to me, that’s all that matters. I have the same issue as Harlan, my hair grows crazy fast! His smile is everything! I can't believe that a worker said that about him or any child.... I am so happy that you didn't listen and went to meet him! Another video idea would be to say which kids are siblings. He is a growing boy, off course he would say food but I wonder if its trauma based! He has the sweetest dimples! I can't believe he doesn't have a girlfriend, maybe he just isn't saying on video!

Nice to hear from Harlan! Good luck with the move and the job change! Jared, the boys' hairstyle you talked about is all over. We live in the PNW and one of my boys can wear his longer in front like that and another can't. (He has curls and his hair just stands straight up instead of falling forward). I also cut their hair. I took them elsewhere before and found out I do a better job!

I’ve always enjoyed Harlan. I think it was mentioned in the past that he doesn’t like to be on camera. What are his interests? What other type of work would he like to do? My Grandpa, great uncle, both Uncle and cousin all worked construction in Phoenix. Grandpa and Uncle Clyde from the time they came home from WWII until the retired. My uncle Hardy worked until the industry of building track homes dried up in the 70’s. He came to Sacramento and managed a pre fab house building. My other uncle and cousin are architects. Hope Cody and Harlan can find career’s they are passionate about.
