He seems eager to show everyone he's up to the task-- and he knows Rhule, so this hopefully will help stabilize things going forward. It's still a challenge to follow these Q & A features when you can't hear the Q. Whether that's an NU set-up, Huskers Online issue or On3-- somebody should figure that out-- please.

Sold me on supporting the coaches, encouraging growth. AD serves them. And, everyone should be on the same sheet of music. I hope Nebraska let's Troy do his job. Maybe Tom O. can help keep a balance.

The one thing that’s concerning from this is how much he referenced football. I understand that it is the big player in regards to college athletics, but he has other programs to oversee and advocate for as well. Athletics departments aren’t healthy when the AD basically neglects the other sports. How many times did he reference any other sport during this interview?

Football is the bell cow. It financially supports the other programs. He cares about the entire department, not just football. You can look at his track record to see that.

@@stroeherj Yes, but this was a press conference to introduce an Athletic Director… and all we talked about was football. I would have appreciated a little more in regards to comments about other sports… especially considering most of our other sports are you know… winning.

Why? The conference is tough enough. I think that would be foolish and a terrible plan. They need, like the NFL, a preseason or warmup games. They will get enough competition and tough games in the conference.
