I really like the way they write the subtitles in Teochew. Lim Lung Lung said our Teochew language used to be written and if it was not, then they would not have been able to write the subtitles in Teochew. I have not seen or heard Teochew dramas using hiaon5 嬲 for a long long time. People do not use this hiaon5 嬲 word anymore. It was used twice in this video and in both cases it meant strange. I cannot remember the last time I heard someone used the word ong1 to meant to hit - I have not been able to find a character for ong1 and the subtitles use 嗡 We, Teochew people, have many ways of saying to hit. I have heard ong1 嗡 in this video. I have also heard sug4 摔 bhu2 拊 and we all know pah4 拍 and of course biang1 that is to slap someone across the face. What else do you know? Do you nasal your hiao or not? I nasal my hiao but Teochew dictionaries have not indicated that hiao is nasal. So do you nasal your hiao?
