Dr. George MacDonald, and wife Joanne MacDonald have assembled a vast array of Northwest Coast visual resources over their careers. Since the establishment of the Bill Reid Centre in 2008, the MacDonalds have been generously transferring this research archive to Simon Fraser University.
This presentation on the Nuxalk village of Q'um'kuts is an exploration by Dr. MacDonald of this particular village file. The presentation is intended to be a point of departure to stimulate conversation, further community and academic analysis, and increase the level of access to the vast array of information collected by Europeans and Euro-Americans on Coastal First People during the 19th and 20th Centuries.
This presentation was recorded using Skype, and although we have made efforts to edit them for quality purposes, there may be small audio and visual irregularities.

You're absolutely right! No idea how 'Tsimshian' made its way in there. Thanks for pointing this out. We have corrected the error.

I was under the impression that the Clelliman House was originally at Noosgulch Village at the base of Mt Nusatsum about 25 km up the Bella Coola Valley from Q'um'kuts Village, and the five peaks represented the peaks of Mt Nusatsum. Any confirmation of this? Apparently it was relocated to Q'um'kuts after the smallpox devastation of 1862.

Q'um'kuts is not a Tsimshian village. It is a Nuxalk village (as Dr. MacDonald himself states at the beginning of this video). The above statement from The Bill Reid Centre at SFU should be corrected.
