I actually worked on plans for live 360 streaming at Fyre festival where we dealt directly with Billy! Fortunately we dodged the bullet as they inevitably wouldnt pay a deposit for the services! But shame because we were all really excited for free tickets to what it was supposed to be hahahaha

@@shaunattwoodOFFICIAL He was a really shady guy and it showed, at the time, of course, we just thought he was strange, but it had come about from meeting Jarule, he was actually the one who introduced us to Billy. What's funny is they kept up the play to the very end despite us not being ones buying anything, but some of the plans were so far fetched it wasn't realistic. Looking back on it we found so many holes in their plan that it's obvious that it was all a play but at the time, Well, you just want to be involved in the festival to beat all others right? Awesome to see you do a video on someone I can relate to though! Keep up the interesting vids and the new video production quality! Actually still have the proposal in my email, pretty sure I could share it now if people are interested in the sort of thing Billy was interested in haha, or atleast give people the concepts in the document!

@An Abomination Ill try and see what I need to change before I can upload it since it 'was' a strictly confidential document. There's a ton of stuff in there that I'm sure wouldn't be in any documentaries however, all film related and concepts. Either way yeah he was a liar but you wouldn't have known at the time.

I keep hearing the word schadenfreude applied to this affair, but no one suffered that horribly. It does seem foolish to plunk down a bunch of money not knowing you'll have to claim a FEMA tent when you get there. Did Billy really think they were going to pull it together at the last minute? Most promoters would have canceled the event before subjecting the punters to that level of disappointment. I guess at that point McFarland was so married to the scam and his own suspension of disbelief that there was no way he could not see it through.

But it wasn't rich kids at all. That was misinformation by the media. The media reported the tickets as being around 12 000$ but almost no one paid that much. In fact, the vast majority of people paid between 500$ and 1 200$. For two weeks in the Bahamas with everything included I'd say that's a pretty good deal, but that's one of the reasons it didn't work, the ticket prices weren't high enough.

I posted this comment on the lastest Don Shipley video. Laz Low Laz Low 6 minutes ago (edited) Just wanted to say, From an English perspective, as someone who comes from a family who have had members in the military over the years and in the world wars, we do respect our service men and women, we do respect service men and women from all over the world. Personally, I think you've presented the information needed to prove what you say is true, I don't think many out there can in any factual way disregard the points you've raised here, thus, what are we Civies to think but to agree! I think that Shaun's battle has been the fact that he knows JMK and is friends with him, JMK lives around 20 minutes away from me and in his defence, he's probably on an allotment ( a rented piece of land you can use for gardening in the city) so, at least he probably didn't steal those flower pots! But compare something someone you've met has said compared to some random person on the internet has made, on a subject you know nothing about Other British Service people have commented on these videos in support of you and your search for "Walts" as they're known in the British Military, as you've said, it's an issue in other anglophone countries as well. But just take in to account Shauns position, I think you have before and I think that shaun won't be posting anymore videos about this (most like he wants to distance himself from this regardless) but that he IS doing good work out there and isn't trying to cash in on this persons story, bogus or not, Shaun mostly spends his time trying to humanise people in Prison and talking to British Youth about staying away from Crime. I hope you won't "Come for Shaun" because he's entered your radar, because it's clearly not what he's all about. My belief is, you're a hammer, you see a lot of nails. May we all be bound in peace and respect for one another, where respect is earned and given.

People paying tens of thousands for tickets is actually untrue. The normal ticket price if I remember correct was around $1200 which is what the majority of people were purchasing not tens of thousands.

Hi Shaun, I have a somewhat unique perspective on you and Don Shipley. Your narrative style is colorful and adds levity to the grim circumstances in your prison stories. I must have watched 30 or so of your videos in the span of the last few months. But I watch because you have established credibility through your direct observations of prison life a la a day in the life of ivan denisovich. On Don Shipley, I have watched his material for the past several years. Nearly all his content on KZfaq and even was a paying subscriber to his private video website. Like you, I watched his content because he had established credibility through his own personal experience and through his meticulous research on the topic of military service and valor. The only time he was wrong on calling out someone, if I remember correctly, was when the name didn't match the original goofy name on the Navy seal training class roster. Tall tales for the sake of surviving in prison is understandable but once brought outside prison walls must stand up to a modicum of scrunity. Take Don Shipley's warning to heart. On military verifications I give him the nod and cannot take seriously JMK stories anymore.

Your so right mate, Shaun said that he was surprised that Jamie was so sane after 34 years in prison. It's looks like he's turning out not to be. He might have had to bullshit in prison to survive. If he told the absolute truth, then what would it be? He might have been one of the bad guys that Shaun talks about in prison. Shaun wouldn't know? He could of bullied and abused other inmates when he was younger. I believed Jamie at first, it was when I looked up jumping from a plane AFTER your parachute pack that I knew it was all bs. Shaun is doing good work and this is just another lesson to learn from.

That was disappointing. I didn't need Shipley to clear it up, that Jamie guy was an obvious liar. I think he may have done a lot of time, but Shaun had to have been locked up with as many story tellers, if not more, as I was, and that Jamie dude was typical, cliche bullshitter. Dime a dozen in prison. They make up crap just to pass the time. Maybe some gullible civilian might get taken in, but Shaun should have, and probably did, know better.

In federal prison they hand in their order forms and other inmates who work in commissary pick their orders and the commissary gets put in their laundry bags then later on in the day control will call out the units to go and pick up their commissary I know a little about this

But see it from his perspective, it's a person he knows and is probably mates with, against someone from the internet he's never heard of on a subject he knows nothing about, I don't blame him for keeping lines open regarding the truth but I think Don's just pegging him on his criminal past instead of seeing what we see, in a similar sense of not knowing much about shaun or empathising with shauns journey in the way that Shaun doesn't understand his, it's two worlds coliding. Personally, I think the information Don has is either on someone with a similar name or he's right on the money, in which case, Shaun should do a video saying all this and then continuing onwards with his purpose, I don't think he should need to proselytise Stolen Valour in his videos just to get Don off his back, just disavow JMK and take off all the content he's done, we don't have the same kind of Military based Culture in the UK as in the US.

Wait if Federal Prisons are way better, why don't bank robbers do one tiny robbery across state borders. Just to make sure you go to the feds.

You don't have to cross state lines for a bank job to be federal, they are all federal, as far as I recall. I was in prison with one bank robber named Clyde, he had to finish his state time for some silly crap, and then off to the feds for a bank robbery sentence.

Just to let everyone know, Don Shipley has made a response to Jamie Morgan Kanes Video, Go watch it. Currently skeptical about Shaun Monetising the JMK video but, could be pennys so, lets hear from Shauns continued investigation into the matter, I think Don's hammer is seeing a lot of nails.

@@polaire801 I agree, Prisoners and Soldiers do face hardships, my cousin is a Vet of the Royal Engineers, he works with helping Veterans get their lives back in order after service and has been on the radio and gone to the house of Lords to talk about it, maybe Shaun could help organisations like that in an act of good faith.

McFarland started ripping people off after the Fyre Festival scam and was eventually prosecuted. Dude is nothing but a con man and I’d bet someone will deal with him after he gets out.
