This is our last review of the books we’ve read this year. We really enjoy sharing quarter by quarter the books we’ve read that quarter. Something that we’ve really found ourselves loving is reading. We were both really big readers before the advent of the online world. We fell off the bandwagon for a few years when the internet came out. Everything we were creating and consuming was online, aside from self-development books here and there. The last two years, since we got rid of our smartphones, we have dove back into the world of written literature. It has been incredible blessing to our family!
If you’re looking for recommendations, we hope that you find a book to read while listening to this episode! We love book recommendations, so if you have some, leave them in the comments below :)

It’s always fun and inspiring to hear what you guys are reading. I noticed that Elisha often has a book that Papa Johnson has given to him. I think it would be so neat to hear Papa Johnson and Mama Nisey each share their top 25 books sometime!

We know of your family in Centalia. Missing your Christmas concerts & our favorite coffee shop, prior to our move to North Idaho. I wanted to recommend a book series that I absolutely loved reading to our grandsons, called, The Terrestria Chronicles. Absolute awesomeness!

I always really enjoy hearing about the books you've read! Right now I'm reading The Lifegiving Table by Sally Clarkson. I've found it very inspiring and encouraging to be more intentional especially with family meal times.

Autumn! YES! I'm apart of her commonhouse group and actually some things you, Katie, have spoke about on here have been relevant to things I'm learning over there specifically when you spoke on how you were setting yourself up for this current school year.. But yes, I'm experiencing Narnia for the first time as an adult and I've taken her advice on the reading order. Experiencing Narnia with Lucy for first time has been everything.

Thank you for the tip about scribbling in the dates you read books. Love this! My family has read most of the books on this list, and we loved them all. Yes, agreed that D. Livingstone was an interesting father. As a missionary family, I sure am glad that my husband and I are on the same page that as a family we'll work in ministry- not sending Dad off or separating to "get the job done. "

I love how you say children instead of kids. I feel like in 2023 that’s an intentional choice.

A book we recently read and that has impacted our food-decisions majorly is Ultraprocessed people, by Chris van Tulleken. It's about our food system and how ultraprocessed foods are a major concern and likely cause of many of the 'Western diseases' like diabetes, obesitas, heart disease etc. As someone with a MSc in the biology of health, I'm often ticked off by books on food, as they are rarely based on decent science, but in this case, I read a lot of scientific literature on it and his main point really is backed by recent science quite convincingly. Major recommendation if you're trying to eat more healthy!

I enjoy these book reviews! I’m reading Fast Like Girl right now based on Katie’s recommendation from a previous video and really enjoying it. As a Christian, athlete, homeschooler and mom who plans to homeschool, here are some of my must reads, in case you are interested! Roar by Stacy Sims (there will be an updated edition released this January) The Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Carroll (my bullet journal became my best productivity tool after reading this) The Quest For Cosmic Justice by Thomas Sewell The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee (my favorite book to have discussed in a Bible study) Education: Free and Compulsory by Murray N. Rothbard Chaos Theory: Two Essays on Market Anarchy by Robert P. Murphy Called to Freedom : Why You Can Be Christian and Libertarian by Elise Daniel
