I'm just going to let some of the mods that are proven the game will horsepower for the Q50 3.7 motor. Also some of these parts are interchangeable on to the 3.5 hybrid, Q60 G37 and 370Z.

@R 88 He changed his name youtube name recently. It's now Speed Culture Studios, he does great videos on his Q50. He does lots of product reviews and tests, also has some good info on parts and stuff. Unlike Boost's videos, he focuses 99% on the 3.7 VQ, I guess because it's his car. He's my go-to product reviewer because of this. Wish Boost did more VQ videos, but it's understandable since he has a VRTT

I would honestly only recommend doing test pipes or a catback to begin with. The oem air box has shown to make decent power because of its design. The intake would be the last thing I would ever get unless I got a good deal on it. I think the supercharger should be the last thing considered, since the cost of it is kinda up there in price. A bolt on vq37 is more than enough to have fun with, one thing I tell myself is there will always be someone faster than you don’t blow your bank on one car.

I jst got a q50 3.7 cuz of the great price on it and the low miles. And doing the pipes is the first I was thinking of doing . But would u recommend 3 inch pipe after the test pipe???

Anthony Ornelas are you referring to the catback section? I would recommend going with something a bit bigger but 3” might be pushing it. A car will only run good on a 3” exhaust if it is tuned for that system. Most decent exhaust systems are at about 2.5” and sound great. The stock q50 exhaust is about 1.7ish inches so it’s small

Mumble I was told that I should take off the 2nd cat then run a test pipe. Then when it splits make the 2 exhausts to a 3 inch. But jst wanted to know if it was a good idea to do this.

im running a basic sep up AEM Intakes Beluga test pipes Invidia catback exhaust and Uprev Tune giving me 326Rwhp all for $3k which i consider are good decent gains for a 3.7 and for what i spent. In my channel i have most runs go and subscribe to follow my build

Whatever anybody says, these cars are fast. If you’re in the market for a 14-15 Q50, the competition all includes 4cyl turbos that’s have 200hp. No comparison there. 0-60 in 5.5 is no joke when 98% of cars you see on the road are less than 200.

Will purchase the following mods for my 3.7 Q50; Upper / Lower Intake Plenum, FI HighFlo Cats, Stillen Crank Pulley n' Belt kit along w/the Catback Exhaust, Takeda CAI, Red Alpha Heat Exchanger, Transmission n’ Oil Cooler Kit, 4.08 Final Gear Drive, and a tune of course ^_^ . That if I don't trade mine in for the RedSport Q50, by next year or so.

My G37X sedan just had r2c intake, Megan test pipes, megan y pipe, and uprev tune... was around 320ish HP on 93 gas. Car ran 13.4s @103mph in quarter mile. You spot on about not wasting money on an exhaust for vq37vhr.

e85 is the equivalent of like 104 octane, you can run much more advanced timing with it, thus making more boost/hp.

Non resonated test pipes, tomei y pipe, 3” admin tuning long tube intakes, and a real name brand exhaust with a tune is your best gains. Good advise though man

What’s up boost gotta question for you. So I recently installed the stillen gen 3 caí on my 2014 q60s. After the installation I checked to make sure I didn’t have any leaks coming anywhere from my intakes. I did reset my ecu by doing the whole pedal dance. A few days later my service engine soon came on with a p0174. Engine running lean on bank 2. I went back and checked for any vacuum leaks. Again nothing seems out of the ordinary everything seems tightened up and closed. I then reset the service engine soon light and it hasn’t turned back on. My worry now is that could I still be running lean due to the intakes? Possibly damaging my engine? And the service engine soon light just not be coming on? As far as power I noticed that upon acceleration I have to floor it a little harder than before in order to get that power. I’m tempted just to take them off and go back to stock. So far that’s the only mod I have on the car. It has 19k miles only. Thanks

My mods.... injen CAI, (these intakes are down at my wheel well) berk HFC, ARK catback and uprev tune 310whp. These N/A motors don't get much from mods unless it's has forced induction

Serious question!!? When I get the supercharger installed do I need anything additional to support the insane hp gain or will my car be just fine running everything stock since it’s pretty much a bolt on supercharger? Any advice helps from anyone, thanks

Ramone Lawson as long as you stay under 450-500 hp you should be fine with stock internals. HOWEVER, GET A TUNE for your engine’s sake!

Food for thought... Temperature difference from "Cold" air intakes are not significant enough to make a difference specially as a daily driven car and even more so if you live in hot zones like Miami... I go head to head with other 3.7 running takedas and other "cold" air systems, I run injen SP Short ram and not only jump from em off a dig (rwd) but pull away.... Cold air intakes are a bust, the air takes longer to reach your engine and the ONLY WAY COLD AIR INTAKE ACTUALLY WORKS IS WITH ACTUAL COLD AIR.... even then it makes no difference. You can't change my mind cause I've ran em both.

Does anyone else notice if you don’t have the adaptive steering , when driving on uneven roads or small back streets the steering wheel pulls super hard to one side? My car does this but it doesn’t do it on the highway

I ran a “reusable” K&N air filter with a long tube Nismo intake on my G35. Sounded great, not much power increase. HOWEVER, the damage to my motor was bad. That filter let more “road dirt” through than anything I have ever used. A black grit lined the entire intake system. YES, I cleaned and oil (not over oil) using K&N’s clean and re-oil kit. I will NEVER EVER use a cleanable filter again. The Q50 is just too damn quiet so I put on a cat back ARK GrIP Stainless Steel exhaust with Helmholtz resonators. Loud when you want it, quiet when you don’t. Yes is $17-1800, but it’s the best mod I have done so far. Tires: I replaced my runflats ASAP. I did find a spare tire kit from another member of the Q50 community. I bought it and got it shipped for about $700. This was not the do-nut spare and it had ALL the stuff that comes in the trunk. The dealer wanted $1675.00 for the same stuff. The little piss ant scissor jack was $365.00!!!!

Dope video, about to get my 18 silver sport this week. What's puzzling me is,I'm going used with 11k miles on in but its $25k. How such a car loses almost 50% value. Mind you it a whole heap of them I'm seeing like this. Also what the difference from getting the 3.0t luxury vs sport I wont have the s badge.

The sport just has (usually) a sport tuned suspension, tuned gear ratios, and wheels/brake package.

Either or. Test pipes = no cats. Slightly more gain. Some people like me in CA are required to have cats because of stupid emission laws :( lol

I went to buy a Q50 ended up with a Q70 if I knew what I know now I would have got the q50 3.7. They don’t make a supercharger kit for the Q70 even though it have the same 3.7 in the q50 😡. Still trying to ding a shop the would do a custom turbo kit for my car.

$noopyRUger I already looking into the Supercharged kit it will not work for the Q70 only because the engine bay is different than the Q50. The SC kit is only for the Q50

A 3.7 beats 5.0s but will not beat anything above an srt8. Haven't raced any V8 Camaros yet so can't answer that... But I eat Ford's up all day.
