Do you not remember the anti-world cup protests by the Brazilian people before and during the tournament? Riot police were pretty heavy handed with the protesters. I agree with Simon,he’s got a point, and when fifa decided to go to take place in Qatar which was a long time ago when they made a proposal and bid at the same time but I was completely against the fifa World Cup Qatar I don’t think it’s a good idea to play between in November and December which is around in the middle of the season so personally I think Mr Blatter made a big mistake.

Everytime I listen to Simon talk about players or his opinion about players being payed so much. I cant help to think about when American basketball player(s) had an opinion about something or I think it was about Colin Kaepernick taking the knee and one of the politicians said " Shut up and dribble". To me in Simon's world players should and cant complain about anything because they are getting payed lots of money. So they must just " shut up and kick the ball". Its just my opinion, I could be wrong also. Or maybe I am misunderstanding him.

So why is it wrong for Qatar to win the right for world cup? What are the similarities between Russia & Qatar? And what are the differences between Russia & US to make it morally wrong for Qatar eventually to organize it? Is it a crime that we as Arabs in the middle east get the chance to go to an Arab country to watch the world cup live? I think Simon isn’t making any sense here, only prejudice is what I’m feeling tbh.

When Arsenal won the Double in 1998 & 2002 I don’t remember Keown or any Arsenal players moaning about too many matches!! It’s simple, if your team Wins a major trophy there aren’t too many matches so for most teams there will be too many matches or not enough matches if you’re relegated 🤣🤣

It is morally wrong, especially considering football was banned in Qatar not even all that long ago. The English bid for the world cup was the best bid, no doubt about it, and it was the most deserved bid.
