Have you ever seen anything overgrown like this?
Actually, this one was quite a fun job to do. It was a free cleanup for one of my regulars, and it came up nicely for the customer. If you think it looks familiar, it because we did part of the front a couple of months ago. Also, I have a new worker, introducing Reece! He is going ok atm, hopefully he will stick at it. All up, the job took us around 3 hours to complete, and we took out around half a trailer of green waste.
Workers on this job: George (long pants) & Reece (Shorts).

FAQ's:
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!

Welcome Reece to the backbreaking,sweaty, muscle aching job of lawn care. The main reward is a neat surrounding area where you can mix with friends and family. 😁😁 At least it is an honest job where you get plenty of exercise. 🏡🏡🏡

Looks like Reece is off to a good start! Hope he likes the work and will stay with you. Reece really should get himself some boot top covers before he gets a spider in his shoe! The other day I asked Sean, at Blade Mate in OZ, why the people Down Under have a fascination with scattering pots of dead plants all over their yards? They really make a mess. Is it something traditional? This owner's yard looks much better and I hope you get to come back and power wash it soon. Looks slippery.

Great job guys! I reckon if you let the workers have a go with the “toys” (weed eater, blower etc) it might make it more interesting for them rather than just raking and picking up stuff all day. Could help with worker retention. Also wondering if they get a bonus for any videos that do well?
@QCV2
@QCV2 Жыл бұрын
Cheers. They get a Christmas bonus, paid breaks and I pay them, $3 - 5 dollar an hour more than I need to. If I find someone with a good attitude & work ethic who makes my life easier, then I will look after them!

I think the helper should be allowed to use the tools (equipment). Both of them doing it at the same time would be a lot faster. Then both of them could go back & pick up the debris. Reece needs experience with the equipment, anyone can pick up trimmings no experience needed to do that.
@QCV2
