@@zhi7656 That's an unfair assessment because you are ignoring the circumstances that made it so. Okuhara won the World Championship in 2017 and Yamaguchi first realistic chance of getting gold is in 2019. She was the first seed and the world number 1 in that year, and was at the same age as Okuhara in 2017. However, she sustained a back injury that set her back for at least half a year. There is no World Championship in 2020 because it was supposed to be an Olympic year. So the next World Championship after that is 2021, and guess what, she won it that year and again in 2022. While mentality is definitely important, luck and opportunity are just as important. Yamaguchi didn't have hers in 2019, not because of her lack of mentality but her injury came at the inopportune time. Okuhara capitalized her chance of winning in 2017 in absence of TTY, that's why she got hers earlier than Yamaguchi. We can discuss about Okuhara vs Yamaguchi mentality but using who gets the World Championship first is an erroneous example.
