it is working the way like I thought. Normal operation (when no issues occur which requires intervention by the driver personnel) is fully automated. Train accelerates and brakes autonomously controlled by a computer - infact the clocking for the stator rail must be set externally to the conductive wirecoils. The speed chart is predefined therefor.

The ride was very smooth, not bumpy at all.

If you mean the "monorail", yeah it was created decades ago, but it has nothing to do with magnetic levitation or propulsion. It is electrically powered, runs on wheels and its top end is around 70mph before it feels like it is going to rattle itself apart. Been on one probably a hundred times, okay maybe two hundred. I only live an hour way from Disney World.

Amazing sensation to be there. Special occasion is when the other train comes in opposite direction. - c.a.t.

I don't think he's talking about the monorail... But the People Mover at Disney World. That uses similar magenetic technology but is slow.

The TGV (a conventional train with wheels and tracks) did over 500km/h back in 1990. I am not sure what normal operating speed is, however.
@Johanoeberg17 жыл бұрын
Haha.. it felt a little shabby. Especially the GPS antenna mounted on the window board with duck tape? Nice speeds though. I wonder what this magnetic rail cost per km and what its maintanence costs per year...?
@Matt0401 well it on daily use it doesnt count only on speed. the french tgv train is a lot faster but sucks in maintenance. thats why all want ICE trains

23 milion dollar/km... naaa, thats tooooo much... And the maintenance cant be lower than a steel rail. so it must be a cost that will be taken into the equation.
@terry191914 жыл бұрын
According to "theory" the technology can go as fast as 2000MPH --- 3218.6 kMPh

China is much larger. This is one solution, which with others (flights, cars) would be possible. The price is high but would come down in time and with competition.

Johanoeberg (2 weeks ago) 23 milion dollar/km... naaa, thats tooooo much... And the maintenance cant be lower than a steel rail. so it must be a cost that will be taken into the equation -it rides on magnetic force not touching any rails, so no friction, no wear, no engine or wheels track is electricfied in timed order to pull the train along
