So mine finally came in the mail that I got on eBay and out of the box I had to really adjust the lens, and it also has a few artifacts in the dot. Also, it looks a bit more like 490-492nm.

Considering diodes and especially those of lasers get damaged if battery is put in the wrong direction, once I got this laser from ebay and it came without any instructions, it's so nice to have this XM360 review that is so clear and also covers the battery direction. negative toward lens, positive toward tail button, got it. Thanks dude :)

I love sanwu, i got the guardian 1800mw blue this thing is a beast at night! Yea laserpointerpro is a scam, only buy from sanwu they even give you a 1 year warranty on some lasers and they are designed flawlessly.

I paid $66.98 for mine on Ebay in early-August 2018. I measured its wavelength spectrographically at 488.710nm with an Ocean Optics USB2000 spectrometer and its power output at 75mW on a LaserBee 2.5W USB Laser Power Meter w/Thermopile.

I've long awaited a new laser vid it's a nice laser despite the higher price and incorrect power output I'm jealous as I can't get some laser tech in the UK now due to misuse act :( I've always wanted a cyan laser but back in the 00's they cost a fortune, I'm guessing you will do a comparison video to the other model you have.

I received a 450 nanometer blue to AAA Battery standard 80mw laser. It's equivalent brightness is to a 303 or a 301 green laser. It was only $20 and I'm guessing it's between 50-80mw.

Lasers don't have any UV radiation leakage. DPSS laser diodes do leak infrared, but this one is Direct Diode, so it doesn't leak anything except that nice cyan colour.

Yes sharp produces the 488nm, 495nm and 505nm. Osram also makes the 488nm diode

Theres a 405 and a 520 on market for this same make laser pointer. If you still do reviews, I'd be interested in those. More specifically knowing what the real mw is instead of listed mw.

Does anybody know if there is a different host available for the laser module used in this device? While this host is pretty slick and waterproof, it only has an on-off switch in the back, and for casual "pointing" a host with a thumbable momentatry push button would be preferred.

Water-resistance should be fine. I threw mine into the cistern (toliet tank) a number of years back and had no issues.

Super hyped about this laser. I know you really dig wavelengths in this area. Also, if it's waterproof down to 5 meters like it says, that will be something fun to see. I'm skeptical as to the power, though; will it really make 1000mw beams?

Hate to spoil the surprise, but this one is far from 1W :( I didn't test the waterproof claims in this vid, mostly because I didn't want to risk it. Especially since the power advertising was false; who knows if the waterproof advertising is actually true

Like I stated just a short time ago, mine tops out at 75mW. Water-resistance appears to be as advertised: I submerged mine in the cistern (toliet tank) and found no water inside when I removed both end caps a short time later. I chose the cistern because it is the only source of water that I can access in my electric wheelchair where the unit could be totally submerged..

I'm not at all disappointed. With this video, you were able to give reference to a replica for less money. You were also able to showcase the laser in a way that's influenced me to make a wise purchase.

I think they’re using a sharp 488nm diode, you can find it on eBay if you look up “sharp 488nm laser diode”. The first 3 results are laser modules stated at 60mw.

Interesting idea, but would be tough as some can only be on for 60 seconds before getting too hot so by the time I get them all turned on, some would need to be turned off. Also, many have buttons that need to be constantly held down to keep power

I got the same laser from ebay for $64 +$30 FedEx shipping. The laser I received measured 80mW probably over driven. Wearing safety goggles for class 3B lasers is recommended but not required. You can safely shine the laser to the wall and look at the dot without safety goggles. There is no purpose of owning a non burning laser if you will have to wear a safety goggle that blocks the laser light. I shined my laser to door knobs, fridge, bathroom, and even used it in a presentation and no eye injury happened. Just avoiding mirrors, and direct exposure is enough for most class 3B lasers.

Based on the power rating, the diode is probably a Sharp GH04850B2G. It's pretty common (there aren't really any other 488nm diodes out there on eBay or other sites) and cheap ($25~$35), which makes that handheld laser very overpriced (although their sales are probably very low volume).

When you said 1 watt I think you meant 1 mw. And that’s for laws and shipping. Laser you’re viewing or showing/ showcasing is 60 mW rated

Yes, i like it. very cheap and good power and low Beam divergence. I am not a fan of the rectangular beam shapes. I ve purchased a very good 637 nm Laserpointer from Dragon Lasers, with nearly round Beamshape and extremly low divergence. But only 50mw.

P.S. I threw mine into the cistern (toliet tank) as it is the only source of water that deep that I can access via my electric wheelchair. Needless to say, it passed the water submergence test with flying colors (colours) and I'd feel absolutely, positively,100% confident about taking this laser outdoors in foul weather, zapping imaginary critters with it in the swimming pool, taking it skiing with you, etc. :-) The web page (evaluation)that I made and published on my website about this laser is www.ledmuseum.net/51/488blue.htm if anybody is interested. all their stuff is is inflated on specs and price..(stay away) got the 488nm in the same host like a handfull of years back, just the small stubby version (18350) which I prefer for the smaller footprint. I recall its Q-line that are making these and they are fully submersible, its a nice host.. quite heavy and feels solid and it keeps its inf-focus point. Got mine from Tommy at laserpointerstore, and price was between 45 to 50 US with free delivery to DK as there was some discount at the time and 1x IMR18350 incl. of quite decent quality... its output are around 65-70mw On my spectrometer... read it as 488.3nm... beautiful lazing color way more cyan then my NUBM7 diodes that are around 465nm..

@@XM360 You're lucky to see that laser light in person. Cyan light is almost always desaturated, so seeing a fully saturated spectral cyan color must be incredibly beautiful!

Why is a laser pointer so expensive? The manufacturing cost is low. Converting from dollars to reais, it gets more expensive.

488nm is a cool wavelength, but I have a hard time seeing anyone endorse or even suggest laser pointer pro as a place to buy lasers. They are known scammers, and have frustrated countless customers with their abominable customer service, countless lies, and complete lack of understanding regarding all things lasers.
