Thanks for watching and taking time to share! It's only fair for me to say, don't judge the rig by my display. That's the one part (that I am aware of) that wasn't quite right. I will do another video on it. Brightness was correct, but I had rigged a 2x2 connector that was not per specs, so my display was acting up. It's perfect now, but I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea. I am good on qrz; k0whw, and if you email me I will send you new photos that are more representational. Jason, thanks for sharing you story! I appreciate it cuz some of the things you are saying I have experienced, lol. My very first kit from QRP labs I smoked. It was the first QCX even before they'd started offering that silver case. I ordered another, and it worked out fine. Recently, I got the QDX, but I also ordered it assembled; I started a new gig and I wasn't sure I'd have time to build it. I ordered in Feb., and it just showed up in June, lol. That list was shorter than it is now. Have patience, my friend. You'll see your order number progress steadily, and then sometimes in big steps. Hey Jason! Thanks for stopping by. For me, It was not the hardest of the QRP-Labs kits I’ve done, but it was the most challenging to solder. I think maybe I learned some good things while doing the previous kits. The limited spaces between through-hole elements and between those elements and the smd components already there demanded my best efforts. There was a couple times I accidentally dragged solder across to the next joint, and had to use everything I have ever learned to fix it cleanly with solder wick and flux so I could re-do it. I did try. Thanks for stopping and giving me a hint. I appreciate it. When it didn't work, I realized that I had botched up the make-shit female header I made myself; that was the one piece that didn't come in the kit. I ordered one from Digikey, and when it came in, I fixed it! It works fine now. I appreciate the comment. 73 de Bill
