Yeah, Matt was definitely on fire in this one, as was Kevin. This song was full of what I would call "sneaky harmonies"...coming out of nowhere to surprise the listener.

Awesome reaction as usual 🥰 this was actually the song that drew me into Pentatonix, I love the colours & the whole vibe, it’s just an already awesome song sung by amazing people. Another one that is very similar in colour & vibe is their cover of Dua Lipa’s ‘Break My Heart’ which is another fantastic but sadly overlooked cover 😁💓

Such a groove! I love the chromatic descent, the different bass in the chord just before the breakdown and that beat breakdown. They work so well together. Oh, and lets not forget Kirstie’s bad ass look. 🤗

I’d recommend watching their cover of Dancing On My Own. It’s just the trio and Kevin. It was the in between time after Avi left but before Matt. Kevin was playing the cello

For more alien stuff, check out their cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love", their last single with Avi. People don't react to it all that often, which is a pity. It's otherworldly in its beauty! And I think you'll enjoy the stacked harmonies :).

Thanks, Qofy, that was fun! I've always thought that "back to our roots" was a very diplomatic way of saying "we can't produce our original music until the royalty percentages are figured out".

@@EliaKay1 I believe that I realize. I give them all credit for how diplomatic they have been about it. And it did take a while. They didn't/couldn't release the video for Happy Now until things were sorted out. and that just happened last fall. I guess they went song by song through every song they ever recorded?

@@mmg8823 from what I heard they had to start over writing everything new in 2019. Anything any of them had written before then is gone for good. It’s really sad. Also this recent album was supposed to come out last year but was delayed because of the pandemic
