I Need U was released in 2015, and it was my first taste of BTS, and I loved it and them - although it was Wings, the following year, that got me to officially join their fan club (still have never done that for any other artist) 🤷‍♂️😂😂. Seven years later, it’s still a great song. As many have said, this mv is the beginning of the Bangtan Universe - a fictional storyline that runs through many of their mv’s. Jin is the linchpin of the story - and as you saw, it is very dark and full of tragedy. From what I can remember, I think that was Tae’s sister who was being abused by their father - and Tae snapped and stabbed him with the bottle…it wasn’t a stranger (in the video), it was definitely a family situation. You can enjoy the songs/vids without going into the story line, but the BU story is truly impressive (and deep, and detailed). It is some of the best visual storytelling I've ever seen! And these 7 guys' acting skills will impress you. I think you would enjoy following the story line and trying to figure things out, and you'd probably do very well at it. But be prepared: It takes time and patience!!! Totally worth it!

please always remember that the songs in the bts universe storyline arent connected to the mv so if you will watch the storyline.. just focus on the mv but you still need to open the captions because there are some little conversation lines or words inside the mv that captions will translate it.

I Need you is the first video in the series of the Bangtan Universe... the video shows the storyline, and sometimes the lyrics don't litterally apply. If you want to dive in this story, there's so much to find out. It's not only MV's, there's also the prologue video Wings, there is Butterfly, there are notes, a game and a webtoon. It's amazingly thought out, and has been running for years. I won't spoil anything, but as you have seen in this video, all members are going through heavy hardships as their characters.

you should check out the bangtan universe analysis it’s very deep and it has so many meanings, some parts are up to interpretation. its a very deep and sorrowful storyline that you can find in notes (book 1&2, their albums and the save me webtoon). also the bu does not have much relation with any girl, it’s way more than that. (the girl you saw in v story was his sister and he saved her from their abusive father)

i dont know if you will get into the story of the BU to really try and understand those MVs (its okay if not, but if you try to understand those MVs like they are standalone you will only be frustrated i think lol), but in this universe V is defending his sister/mother (i dont remember) from his abusive father, so i'm definitely not defending his acctions but its good to have context, and there are future songs that shows us V dealing with the conseguences of his acctions (they never show it like its a good thing what he did). The stories they tell in the BU are very sad and have very heavy topics, but theres also happiness and fun times ashauhsaush here they are each others pillars, if you see more you will notice how better their life is when they are all together, and how they sometimes make bad decisions when they are alone during those tough times tks for your reactions, sorry for this big comment huahauhau

In advance, sorry for so much text. In a VLIVE, Nam mentioned that it was actually focused on friendship, everyone had their problems but when they were together they could forget their problems. But they had to change parts of the song to I NEED U GIRL, because it sounded younger than I NEED U BROTHER. Hello, according to the MV, Weebtoon of SAVE ME from the BTS universe and the theories, the 7 boys are friends, some more friends of others but in a group they are always happy because in some way they protect and help each other. Then Jin as the oldest must separate from the group of friends to go to university or something like that, they no longer see each other and since then the other 6 members begin to have problems of various kinds: 1.- Jungkook is adopted but he is not happy with his new family, there is no fatherly love for him, so he relies on his friend Suga with whom he is closest. 2.-Suga loses his mom in a fire that's why there is always fire, after the death of his mom he becomes distant from his friends and Jungkook. 3.- Tae, for his part, lives with an alcoholic and abusive father who beat him and his sister. A part of these abuses defends his sister and what is seen in the video happens. Whenever he felt bad or wanted to run away from home, he went with Nam and Nam made him forget his sadness. 4.- Nam for his part runs away from home and has to survive only with jobs like the gas station, something happens with which he ends up separating from Tae. 5.- Jimin's parents took him away from his friends, Jimin had depression and was admitted to a hospital. 6.- Hobi for his part suffered from Narcolepsy (suddenly falling asleep, that's why he faints on the bridge), in the hospital he meets Jimin. 7.- Jin when he returns from university or school realizes that his friends were no longer as before he sees his friends plunge into misery and end up in the most tragic way according to the various theories: Tae for being imprisoned for killing to his dad, Jungkook in the hospital after being beaten by thugs and being run over in the street, it is suggested that Jimin commits suicide by drowning in the bathtub, and Suga by the fire, J hope developing some disorder due to his past trauma , RM I think he also ended up in jail. The point here is that Jin returns and within this universe finds a way to travel in dimensions to change this tragic moment, from there many videos that are connected come from. I don't know if anyone has clarified this for you. However, in the BU storyline that is V's father or older brother and sister. V and his sister have been abused by their father all their life. In this moment V has snapped.

@ 29:10 I understand from where you're coming from QoFy however the lady there is V's sister and the guy is their father. They have been living an abusive life probably since young. He's in his verge of what's going on in his life from that story. But it is true that in real life we cant really tell, individually we all have levels of our emotions. At times we might be strong today but tomorrow may not, then things happened.
