These speakers are outstanding! Plenty of volume for this outdoor farmers market! They're loud but I definitely feel that they need a sub to make them come alive. Not as "DEEP" as the original K series.

When using a single subwoofer, it is recommended to place it in the middle of your 2 full range speakers for better bass distribution.
@BenJamin-ou7kd7 жыл бұрын
Marco Casarrubias not really, bass is omnidirectional, the only tip i would give is move it where it will interfere the least at the dj booth, whete he has it placed would the best spot for one sub

Do they really sound the best though? They have smaller 1.4i" HF drivers on a 1" throat so I would expect them to have better highs but the downside to small HF drivers is they don't have as big of a throw. The EV ETX line is the same, they have a 1.25" HF driver, and although they sound crystal clear with a nice sizzle, they just don't have the ability to throw over a distance, which is important if you want the people at the back to hear it very well while not making it painful for the people at the front.. Sure they might get loud but how much do they drop off compared to speakers with larger HF drivers? That's the biggest reason why I'm interested in the JBL SRX835p's
@JuanLopez-ch5ec7 жыл бұрын
Well I didn't really test them for range in this video but they seem to work as expected. In other words, it's not a KLA... I've also owned the ETX line and loved those speakers but switched to the SRX series to get some more throw. So if throw is what your looking for without going to a line array or constant curvature then you can't go wrong with the SRX835P. I own 6 of them and they can get most jobs done when paired with the SRX828SP. Hope this helps.

@@prouserprouser9646 I love the Yamaha DSR112's, still a very potent box for their age. Paired with a high-powered sub they're killer!!! Have you seen the new Yamaha DZR. They are also wooden cabinets, with similar large format HF drivers, upgraded amps and DSP/EQ on the back. I'm super keen on checking them out!!
@prouserprouser96464 жыл бұрын
@@djlobb hi ,yes I now own a pair of DZR 12 cabs. They are voiced very different from the DSR 12's. The DZR'S sound like studio speakers on steroids, and I'm not exaggerating here either. They go very low, and have a full sound and sound like a 15 " cab. The beauty of these cabs is they have a 6 way equilizer built in, tons of DSP settings also. It's funny as much as I love my DSR 12'S, they now sound toppy, bright, and dare I say it cheap!. People who watch us at gigs noticed the smoothness and warmth immediately from the DZR 12 ESPECIALLY in the microphone department. I use an Akg tetrad digital D5 wireless microphone and it really sounds beautiful through the Dzr 12, fuller bass and warmth in the vocal, whereas the DSR 12 was always a thinner sound due to the cab's design. Overall both speakers are stellar, but the main reason for the DZR 12'S was to not take out a dxs 12 sub to every gig , and the Dzr 12 are great for that.dont get me wrong , a sub is always gonna make a gig sound great, but it's nice to have the confidence in the DZR 12's for a full bass and warm sound. Cheers.

@djlobb4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, I think most subs can. You don't want to push the K.2's too hard because they lose their nice sound when all that fancy magical QSC "processing" comes into play. Not very transparent. For the price the Yamaha DZR are a lot better.

I demo'd them tonight after years with the k12s and I totally agree. k12 on deep has lower response than the 12.2s on dance. These are more reliant on a sub but my guess is that with a sub they go louder than the k12

@@fuse2670 What do you mean? The F1's are great for their price range and get very loud. Hugely better than the L1 systems. Both large format horns, although the JBL has a larger 3" HF driver.
