I did his 1200 calorie diet for 4 months for both weight loss and gallstone issues. Ended up losing 30 lbs pretty fast without working out and by the end of 5-6 months I had lost 50+ lbs incorporating some light workouts. Noticed I was losing an average of 3 lbs a week. Definitely works but hard to stick to 😫🙌🏼

That diet is for people fighting for their life, literally. The rest of us, even those amongst us who are trying to lose 40 lbs of menopausal and bad thyroid weight (me, hehehehe) can certainly have a few tablespoons of peanut butter in a week or have 5 or 6 ounces of a healthy protein when we want it. He would have no salt because many of the 600 lb life people are at serious cardiac risks. No salt/low salt is necessary for a cardiac patient. That diet is an extreme because they are in a dire extreme situation. Many are months from possible death. It was fun to see you try it! God Bless 🥰

As a bariatric patient, his meals aren't that much different from what my doctor has me doing. You could have gotten some Mrs. Dash with no salt, you could've used fresh dill, thyme, rosemary, lemon, or lime. The diet isn't only for people who weigh 600 pounds. Yes, at first the change in eating habits is hard but if one is seriously determined to change after the 1st two weeks it gets easier. I would love to see you doing the diet for six weeks but getting you some of Tabitha Brown's seasonings. Remember if you are going to do protein shake you can order PBfit no sugar, you can also eat fresh nuts by adding them to your salads. If he says no dairy then you can get no-sugar plant-based milk and protein powders. Yes, girl come on and really go all in and change your eating habits for 6 weeks. 1200 calories and weighing your food.

How much did the surgery help you lose? I'm considering the sleeve but I'm not sure because I have lost weight before and I know what it takes. You must want it badly enough to work for it! That's was the bottom line for me. Congratulations and good luck with your weight loss journey. My health is the reason I'm going back to better eating habits and the challenge my nurse is commenting on. He wants to see me skinny and that challenge has clicked it in my brain. I'm doing it too! Here's to healthy living. Our body is the temple of God.

@@valeriesavoie8536I’m also a bariatric patient and I’ve lost 50kg (110 lb) with a bypass and it’s very very hard, but totally worth it. The shown diet is very similar to what I eat now, the difference is that I am not restricted (other than portion sizes, of course), but I could totally eat whatever I want, based on what I have learned and listening to my body, healthy nutritious meals, prioritizing protein, etc. As many people, I tried several things before going into diet, as keto or so, but it wasn’t sustainable for me, I had to be super disciplined and I discovered that I like to eat healthy and I love to exercise, the surgery went with a year of therapy as well. Surgery is a great kickstart, but at the end, is your discipline and determination what will take you to the ultimate goal. I may only regret not doing it before.

1200 calories is way too low. My personal trainer had me on 1400 calories when I was trying to reach my final goal (I had already lost 106 lbs in 9 months, but was stuck at 170 lbs and wanted to reach 160.) OMG I was waking up in the middle of the night with anxiety and was freezing cold all the time. I would have to make double decker sandwiches and scarf them down with a quart of milk at 3 am! it was way too low calorie wise, as I was working out with weights and doing bootcamp and spin too. I needed 3000 calories actually. Well I got to 160. that lasted a year. then menopause wrecked me. and covid. Now I am up 36 lbs and maintaining that, too tired to exercise anymore, just walking here and there and , well, I dont care anymore. I am perfectly healthy, and plump, and my husband is rather happy that I now have my boobs back Lol!

The no salt is because your taste buds have basically become addicted to excessive amounts of salt and sugar from all the garbage that you eat. So doing no salt helps bring your taste buds back down to a more normal salt tolerance that is appropriate. There's plenty of other seasonings to use. You don't need salt all the time. It's a hard lesson to learn. I've done this type of diet myself for a while and it is a struggle to get your taste buds to be different. After a while you can do some salt to your foods as a light seasoning, but at first the point of no salt is to break that addictive flavor that you think you need all this salt to make food taste good. My husband is one of those that is addicted to the high amount of salt sugar and oil he feels is needed to make his food taste good. I can't cook healthy food and actually have him enjoy it because he feels that he needs all that extra garbage to make the food taste good.

I think the no salt, oil, carbs and sugar is because the patient’s are highly addicted to those kinds of foods. They also have a lot co-morbidities that those foods cause. , The cravings also have to be dealt with prior to surgery and it helps to reset the palate for after the surgery.

Salt is bad for morbidly obese people for a plethora of health reasons. I'm sure he eliminated the salt in the recipes intentionally. Bland food is a good idea for the morbidly obese for several reasons as well, such as 1)Preparing for the gastric surgery (wherein highly seasoned food can't be eaten) 2)To avoid stomach upset or possibly interactions with certain medication 3)Bland food is typically eaten more slowly 4)Teaching people to eat to live instead of loving a flavor profile and living to eat

Your great!! Loved this show!! I am also a watcher of the 600lb life and thoroughly relate to all those people struggling with food addiction I have never reached a weight beyond 200lbs but I have struggled with binge eating and the desire to keep eating carby, sugary and comfort type foods! Horrible! Looking forward to more of your content!

Hi Trinity! I love your videos, you’re really funny and I can have good company while doing my stuff at home! I think you did pretty well, at the end of the day you’re not 600 pounds like others have told you! You move through the house and with a family on your shoulders you definitely need energy! 💗

It’s so many salt free seasoning out and other herbs you can actually make the food good. I’m for sure about to try this

I think that the thing with no salt is because it causes fluid retention and can contribute to weight gained instead of lost 😊

I have eaten all of these things. Having seasoning instead of salt is what I've been trying to do. It's not easy at all but it's also a lifestyle change and commitment 💯👍🏾😊

Salt is t the culprit for HTN and DM2. I'm shocked he doesn't use it. The excess carbs and sugar is what causes weight gain and the processed foods usually have too much sodium. But a quality salt has tons of research behind it. I don't get eating food you hate to lose weight. At least it can taste good.
@bryant475
@bryant475 Ай бұрын
@@NB-nh2sf You can have some salt, just keep it to less than 1300mg a day and use other herbs/spices! Also, carbs aren't all bad, just processed carbs like white bread/flour/sugar. If you want to optimize health, stick to Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition! You can eat large volumes without having to restrict to small portions. Just stick to Veggies, Fruits, Legumes/Beans/Lentils, Whole Grains, Nuts/Seeds, Herbs/Spices! No animal products/processed foods/oils. It's easier than it sounds, and it's super healthy on top of the weight loss, especially since animal products/processed foods lead to disease!

It's so sweet when you finally lose that unwanted weight. I lost 109 pounds (half the weight of a refrigerator) in less than 4 months and have kept it off since then. Just like every woman struggling with weight loss now, I yoyoed for years - staying on track for a month or 2, losing a few lbs in the process before falling off. And each time I fell off, I just gained the weight back plus more. In July 2021, I was at my heaviest - 255 lbs... See full story on my channel.

you'll gain it again plus more this time too, because as you saw from personal experience, diets don't work. You can't restrict forever. Once you stop restricting, you'll get back to your body's preferred weight.

On a low carb (or ketogenic) diet, you do need animal fats and salt. [No seed oils.] This is a anti-inflammatory diet. Carbs hold water, and you release water without all the carbs. Sodium allows the water to enter your cells. Stay well hydrated: salt and water is needed. Try a carnivor diet challange: See the Steak and Butter Gal on youtube, or Kelly Hogan.

You eating that peanut butter reminded me of that episode on The Cosby Show (showing my age 🫠😂) when Claire was on a diet to get into a dress for an event. She snuck in the kitchen one night to sneak and eat a spoonful of the taco meat that Cliff made for dinner earlier that night! She made that same face you did when you ate the peanut butter 😂😂!!!

I love the show as well and Dr now is very strict. I don't know how people can do it. It does take a lot of will power and they have to want it. But damn! My bariatric team is nowhere near strict. If your food doesn't taste good, you ain't gonna want it lol. We are allowed to use seasoning, butter, oil etc just be smart about it. Also, I was weighing my food in the beginning and then I got lazy and was like "oh, I can just eye ball it, I don't feel like getting the food scale out" nope, definitely gotta weigh to make sure you're not eating more than 4 ounces of food per meal. I gotta get back to that and man I need to get my water goals down and protein! Whoever said wls is the easy way out, you have no idea how wrong you are lol
