Whenever a player makes quads on stream, it's guaranteed to be an exciting hand. This video features 6 straight hands where a player made quads. Each pot was bigger than the previous so the best comes last!

In the 1970s at Laughlin, NV I was playing on a 7 stud table. On the first 2 down cards i had a pair of aces. As the game went on you could see several straights developing on the table and everyone was betting. The third up card was another ace so I was hoping to get a full house and had nothing else up so I just called as all the straights keep getting better. I had been sitting at the table not having much luck up until then and there were a couple that had been winning most of the hands. The last down card I got the 4th ace and the price of poker went up. One other player totally lost it; he was one of the previous big winners. After that I just maintained my position winning a few but not much else but did have quad. 10s once. Left that night happy.

I just don't like the choices Yoo-chan made in that KQ v 88 hand at all. Sure, he has a boat, but he's done it with an underpair to the board on the turn - in a hand where 5 players saw the flop. If it were, say, QQQ7 on the board I'd be more in favour of it, but because it's QQQ9 (that is, his pair is an underpair), he doesn't just have to fade the rare Q, but also the 9, in a hand where 5 players saw the flop. Sure, even with 4 opponents they won't always have it - but with how easy it is to be beaten on this board, I definitely think you should pick a better spot to make a stand.

@@stephenc4161 This isn't from hindsight. This is overvaluing your pocket pair when it's an underpair and 5 people saw the flop. As I said, totally different ball game if the board is QQQ7 instead of QQQ9.

You don't sound like you understand Texas. Austin to Amarillo is truly in the State of Texas, however to compare the east coast, it is the same as NYNY to Raleigh, NC. A to A is 11 hours on the road, straight through. A drive through 5 States our east.

Sometimes, it's ok to let someone bluff you. I tell people all the time, "if you're not willing to make a BAD laydown, you'll NEVER be able to make a GOOD laydown". I play a lot of cash...and you have to be able to make LAYDOWNS in order to make money doing this long term. Especially the last dude that paid off Doug's quad 4's. Only $3k in the pot until the river...when Doug bet $9k (into a $3k pot). Three different scenarios here: 1. Doug has quads...2. Doug has a king...3. Doug is bluffing. In the first scenario....dude loses $9k....in the 2nd scenario..dude wins $1,500 by chopping with Doug....in the third scenario..dude wins $12k if Doug is bluffing. Two of those scenarios....arent good. Lose $9k in the 1st....risking $9k to win $1,500 in the 2nd....winning $12k in the third. There are times where it's worth it financially to 'pay someone off'. However, on that last hand...easy fold.

Can somebody check what are the odds of a normal? 7,8,9 round table hitting quads this many times in one session? I feel like even quads twice in one session would be astronomically small percentage. Granted, I wasn’t paying close attention so this could be different hearts from different people. Unbelievable.

I walked to play one day thinking "I'm only gonna play premium hands." In the first half hour I was dealt 8-5 hearts...the pot was capped before it got to me so I folded...of course I would have flopped a str8 flush. Every betting round was capped and three people made it to showdown. Crap
