I love how he just stands there, doing his job like a boss…

This is what we call “the help cry.” Our first hatch (Cody) did this for 10 hours straight the moment after he hatched, because he wanted out of the incubator. He still does it if it’s too quiet or if he can’t find his sister… So stinkin cute!

My first hatchling came out making this noise at 11pm on the dot. Woke me up from another room, and kept me awake for the next 10 hours from inside the incubator. I named him Cody- short for “co-dependent…”

I played this video, and 9 of the 12 remaining eggs popped right out. This little fellow on screen puts in work.

My eggs go on lockdown tomorrow and I already have one rocking so I played this and it rocks every time. So to be safe, I put eggs on lockdown today and upped the humidity. Thank you for posting this video! It helps so much.

In 5th Grade, my science teacher brought in an incubator and some eggs, so that we could study how chickens and ducks hatched. We hatched a duckling, and kept it in a small box. It was a cute duckling, but it was loud, and somewhat smelled. One time, during the Pledge of Allegiance, the duckling was extra talkative. And then the announcements said, "And now for a moment of silence." The duckling started peeping a lot, and one boy stated, "Shut up, duckling! This is the moment of silence!"
