Great Caps are made in China and Taiwan now also, most Nichicon caps are now made in Malaysia.... The market has changed, The Chinese have caught up to the Japanese in Cap Quality.

Totally agree, I own the Auralic Aries G2.1 and it’s half the price. With the other half you can buy yourself a top shelf dac and have way more flexibility than this setup offers.

@@maxh4296 yeah I didnt go heavy on the spec as its a lot of number and it's a bit dry to present that info.

@@PursuitPerfectSystem Understand, but bearing in mind the cost and therefore the ability to bring the very best out out of quality components I believe it is relevant. This is going head to head with dual mono players and Fibre network at this price point and I can’t think that many would not consider the quality of signal to be a key factor here. I am not being critical just realistic for people who would seriously consider a player for this money.

@@deanmcpherson The P1 is a pretty serious piece of kit as well. This is Linn, Lumin etc territory and that is fierce competition especially as the brand has no European heritage.

Brushed metal is hard to get on camera and make look nice because the grain reflects light. I have this issue with quite a few products so maybe there is something I could do better with lighting

@@PursuitPerfectSystem Indeed, just came back from Hamburg. I have a friend who is a high end dealer. I get to hear a lot of stuff, most of it widely over-priced. As an engineer, it's always interesting to have a peak inside. Unfortunately, high end dealers have been hawking well dressed, outmoded tech for years.
