Je suis née en 1972, mais c' est une des chansons qu'on a appris à l'é cole maternelle. Une de mes préférées parce qu'elle me renvoie à ma source❤❤❤et med ancêtres❤❤❤....

J’en ai les larmes aux yeux ! Quel artiste pleine d’émotions je l’écoute chaque soir au coin du feu avec mon petit tequel. On kiff a deux jusqu’au lendemain matin en d’endormant sur cette musique. Ensuite je mange des pâtes aux pâtes et mercredi après midi j’ai amené mon tequel au cinéma.

My mum passed away on May 3rd, 2020 at 92. She was in Northwood Manor in Halifax and passed peacefully. She had tested positive for COVID-19, but showed no symptoms. She was a proud Acadian, who was brought up on the Magdalen Islands in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Although I could not hear it, she had a French accent until her dying breath. Upon meeting mum, people would always ask me if she was French? I would ask how did they know? They said her accent. This was one of her favourite songs and singers. She sang this to us as a lullaby almost every night. We also had it on an LP (I still have it)

The strangest thing happened to me last night. I kept dreaming of my father playing the guitar and I was trying to play with him and I couldn’t remember the words to this song. It was a French song he used to sing to me when I was a child. When I woke up I couldn’t get the tune out of my head so I did a search online to see if I could find it based on a few words I remembered in French. I found the clip right away! The weirdest part is that the clip was posted by Hector Savoie… my dad was Savoie!!!! I listened to the song and at some point it switches to English where it says… “Now when the sun says good-day to the mountains And the night says hello to the dawn I'm alone with my dreams on the hilltop And I can still hear his voice though he's gone I hear from my door the love songs through the wind It brings back sweet memories of you” Well… it certainly struck a chord with me and my emotions this morning are …. Well…
