@@kittenmittons1968 I am soooo sorry...I have seen her on other shows where she had no accent and if you listen to just her chats, even now, there is no accent. That's a good tip about the al dente pasta. Maybe traditionally they cook the pasta to al dente so that the pasta sauce (like spaghetti or Alfredo sauce) will get absorbed into the noodles. It makes sense after Paula explained that if you undercook these noodles, the dish will be dry because the noodles will take in all the cheese sauce. I'm learning so much from watching Paula cook!

Made a list, went shopping, came home and set about making. I pulled up the link Paula posteed and followed recipe. In the recipe it said to cook mac to boxes instructions 11-12 min. @lisajustlisa29134 жыл бұрын
Louis82 grits are made from hominy (corn kernels) and is ground coarsely. Boil or cook them about 20 minutes. Add salt and butter and they are very thick,creamy and buttery. Also can milk makes creamy. Meatloaf? Well many ways to make it but basically it’s ground beef , some add sausage to the mix , egg, bread crumbs,onions, green peppers etc, mixed together with tomato sauce, or ketchup and thrown into a bread loaf pan and baked. It’s served sliced. Many ways to make a meatloaf it’s really all in the cooks desire and provisions on hand. It’s quick , inexpensive, and served on a lot delicious f tables in the south where I’m from.
@kcso714 жыл бұрын
Here's a little tip for very flavorful grits.. In your saucepan, melt a couple tblsp of butter and add your grits. Stir constantly until toasted.. you can smell the toasted corn and they will start to turn color..add water and salt.. stir well and bring to a boil, reduce heat to low.. cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until done. Here in South Carolina, we eat grits with just about everything!! If you want a change of pace, add a dollup of sour cream along with your butter.. cream cheese is good, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese, diced bacon,.. oh my.. and of course shrimp, ham and sausage!! The possibilities are endless!!!

I must say - Mac and Cheese is the ultimate comfort food and my favorite dish. I crave this dish often, but don’t get a chance to make it often. I’m gonna try this recipe. Thanks, Paula Deen! Y’all stay safe by staying inside down in Georgia. Don’t pay attention to the folks who’s saying that it’s safe to go back out and shop and eat at restaurants. ITS NOT!!!

My wife and I dined at your restaurant in Gatlinburg/Sevierville, TN a couple of years ago and enjoyed in immensely!!! My favorite dish I ate was dessert, I do have a sweet tooth. It was your bread pudding. I would love for you to show that recipe again, maybe while we are #QuarantineCooking! Love you and miss you! These videos have given me something to look forward to every day. GOD BLESS!!!

My two year old granddaughter's favorite is Mac-n-Cheese. one day were were in the grocery store and we walked down the aisle w/mac-n-cheese in it and she started yelling "Mac-n-Cheese! Mac-n-Cheese!" and just wouldn't stop. People looked at me and said, "Would you get that kid some mac-n-cheese already!" lol I want to make this right now. But I'm at work in the hospital so can't right now. But later...Mac-n-Cheese!!! : )

I have been watching Paula since I was 19 yrs old when I moved out and got married. 20yrs later I still love watching her cook. I learned more about cooking from her than my own mom. Lol

That’s how my mom used to make it and she’s also a good Southern cook. She did everything the same, the evaporated milk, eggs, fresh cheese (Colby), etc... except no mustard. I’ve tweaked her recipe just a little to make it my own. Thanks so much for posting. Hope you’re doing well. God Bless.

There's actually many talented chefs on the Food NETWORK. Ree Drummond, Ina Garten, Bobby Flay, Giada Dilaurentis to name a few. I am glad that Paula has kept her career going, I believe everyone makes mistakes. However, the Food Network didn't have a choice but to part ways with her, it was something she brought on herself. Just my point of view from someone who still does watch and enjoy Food Network.
@hootowlholler37604 жыл бұрын
@@ashleys4652 why didn't they fire Bobby for busting up Giada's marriage? Or was it the other way around? Why didn't they fire Drumond after her kid got arrested? Those things happened in the now. You cannot justify going back 30 years in someone's life & persecute them for saying something. That is not a crime. Food Network Sucks for doing that.
@ashleys46524 жыл бұрын
@@hootowlholler3760 Oh ok I see you are someone who believes everything you read on the Internet. The Bobby/Giada rumor was just that. And even if something did go on, that is absolutely NOT a reason to fire someone. Nor is Ree's teenage daughter drinking underage. Spare me the holier than thou rhetoric. Using racial slurs IS a reason for termination. Paula admitted it and apologized, which I give her credit for. Like I said, when the story came out, she left the network no choice. It goes with being a public figure and she was a reflection on the network. Their choice was not to be associated with it in these times. I believe in second chances, that is why I said I wished her and her career well. It's a shame that you don't get that even if something happened 30 years ago it STILL matters, words matter. The fact that you can't admit she did anything wrong is sad because she herself did.

Thanks again Ms. Paula -- I'm definitely making my own (well, yours) from now on: without scoping the price I bought a pound container recently at a grocery store deli counter. How much could mac and cheese cost? They charged thirteen dollars. I'm a dumb***. Never again. I'd much rather have yours. Very grateful you're here.

Like many others have said, I'm loving these at home videos and hope Paula will continue making them even after the quarantine. Also, I made her crockpot mac n cheese recipe a couple months ago. A few differences from this - had a can of cheddar cheese soup, you make the cheese in the skillet first, no evaporated milk, no sour cream and no muenster. It was very good but I would like to try this one, think I might even enjoy it more with that muenster!
