How could you not just love ole Godwin. He's like your cool Uncle that takes you hunting and fishing.

I did my crappie this way and I gotta say, it's absolutely incredible. Probably the best way i've ever done them. I like to mustard fry them as well so I think im going to combine the mustard and sour cream next time and see how it turns out. I do gotta say for anyone that wants to give this recipe a try. Not only is it extremely important like Godwin said to have the fillets dry, you also want them room temperature. If your filets are too cold, the flour will also get real doughy on you.

Griwing up whwn my dad was alive i loved crappie fishing with him. In our ood aluminum canoe. Had us sone huge crappie frys back then. Our slough got ruined eventually choked out from to much millfoil weeds. Now i occasionaly drive about 2 hours north a few times a year to get a mess or 2. Delicious

Exactly! Get the seasoning on it right when it comes out the deep fryer when the grease is still wet then let it dry.

Our family grts a mess of crappie over a weeks worth of fishing in Minnesota. .Up North! This is a great way to cook 'em up and enjoy them. Mr. does the fishing and cleaning.
