Quarantine Wildlife Photography: How to find wildlife to photograph in an urban garden.

Good day dear people. First of all, I hope you are all staying home and staying safe where possible. I know this is a tricky time for everyone though I have decided to not really address the issue in any great detail in my videos. Instead, I have decided to try and produce a distraction for you all, and perhaps a form of inspiration to help people find motivation to get taking photos, enjoying the nature all around us and hopefully finding escapism.
With that said, this video comes as the result of me spending Isolation at home and feeling the need to photograph the urban wildlife in my gardens that I know I am very lucky to have right now. I plan to release around 3 episodes on this subject with this first one showing me setting stuff up for future photographs and trying to find just what I have in my gardens in the first place.

You *expletive expletive*. I wasnt expecting that ... I expect netflix to stoop that low but you 😀. Fine I was gonna mention about your trail cam but now I'll make you wait a week 😁. Fine .... I didn't catch which one you had but they all have different catch rates. I initially had a chinese ... knock off sun thing which was great but something kept setting it off and we never saw what it was. Eventually I researched it and whilst the pictures snaps came in at reported 0.2 of a second from setting the motion sensor off it was more like 1 second and blurry when it did. Upgrades to a bushnell aggressor which I believe is 0.4 from memory for pictures but ... the video is always slower. 1.7 seconds on the chinese one and a bit faster on the bushnell. The best bit with the bushnell is black LEDs which are invisible unlike infra red is to some animals. And it has wide arc of trapping. So it has 10 degrees of arming area so that when the animal is in range of the camera lens that slow timer has already begun beforehand. It's worth looking up the specs so that you maximise your chances. Also blue tits love them. I have several blue tit rectums and blurry beak shots if you are ever interested... no ...? Also watch the illumination settings. Fiddly to get it right to prevent bleaching out the subject through reflected illumination. Now off to sulk a smidge. I might troll some flat earthers 🤔
@MattGouldphotography
@MattGouldphotography 4 жыл бұрын
Hahahah sorry to have stooped as low as Netflix :D. I use a Chinese one called Campark T20. To be honest, not to give much away but I have had success with this since the initial setup. But thanks for the additional info :). I hope future episodes don't disappoint.

@@MattGouldphotography I'm sure they wont Matt. Obviously fox, badger, hedgehog etc probably wouldn't surprise you like that. And if it isnt one of your flat mates mooning the camera its gonna be different. Hmmmmmm I'm gonna guess fox cubs or perhaps an adder. We shall see. Stay safe.
