Thank you Marco for this review! I have always been fascinated with the eastern front of WW2, and this game looks to be perfect for me!

“In the quartermaster games you can never move out of supply”. Damn logisticians in charge.

Maybe I'm just imagining it, but your sound seems to be echoing because your game room is now so empty!! No choice but to fill it again now =)

working on it; thank you for your patience in the meanwhile. And I promise than in the future I'll only donate small portions of the collection at a time, so that the audio stays crisp.

@@marcowargamer No problem at all Marco it is not an issue - just a funny observation after all these years of watching your reviews!

Did I imagine a video where you got rid of all your games? I could have sworn I watched a video where you said you had got rid of your collection, I was stunned, I must have dreamed it, weird?

no, that happened. I donated about 5K games to the Lilly Library, and I retained about 200. Of course the collection is already growing back...

@@marcowargamer That was very generous of you, well done, Yes I have found and watched the video where you talk about it now. Though I am glad you are still gaming, just out of interest did you keep Unconditional Surrender as I remember you saying it was a Desert Island game for you?

I guess Marco porbably missed one important point here. Having watched a playthrough by "The Box of Delights" (.... , I have an impression that this game plays very differently, as compared to all its previous iterations. I was not impressed by the original at all, found it too boring, and basically gave up on the system. But this one seems to have turned it into a very different game, truly tense and much more "wargamey", so I would be really interested in trying. In the video you might get an impression that it is more like older versions with a few new rules thrown in, but to me it looks like a very different (and a better) game.

The big difference compared to the earlier Quartermaster General games is that in this one, you can move units instead of only placing them. But if you think earlier games in the series aren't "tense" then you simply gave up on them too quickly.
