If you have found some gold in the quartz then you should be taking all the quartz regardless of what the pieces look like. White quartz can still have gold in it as it is metamorphic and gold can be trapped inside (usually very high purity as it hasn't been affected by the impurities of the ironstone your finding on other pieces). Also the ground or crevices nearby should be dug and panned to see if the reef leeched gold into the nearby soil/ground material. In my experiences with reefs follow the brown, red, purple to black tarnish quartz seams and test for gold along the way by crushing or whatever your doing to extract it then if there is a result that seems profitable or you can endure wasting the time take all the quartz near those seams. I know it might not look good but your choosing your own luck and will only find a small proportion of the gold and leave the rest for someone else to enjoy!

@myadventure7069 use a jack hammer or a few wedges and hammer to break rock faster. A lot of gold is usually 100 ounces or more in my experience. Congratulations if you've found that so far. Reefs can hold thousands of ounces or a few grams. it's a lucky dip.

You always say that the brown formation stuck on quartz is gold. There are also those who say oxidation, sulfur. So is it iron oxide or iron sulfide in it? I would like to know

Not always but you need have microscope and check it

Yes but you need dig deeper ! Or learn hou recover mikron gold . Mikron gold always a lot more then visible .

I'd recommend crushing All the ore, 50 50 ratio HCl to hypocrite, Clorox bleach, with 50 50 HCl to hydrogen peroxide , combine the two slowly when adding the bleach, careful not to breathe the chorleine gas put it in a plastic container with a lid for a vessel, caution don't tight the lid tight. Open every so often to release pressure It will expand this contains the chlorine gas helps dissolve the ore, , if no vessel is used than boil as the same as your method with beaker open on hot plate, after boiling 50 50 ratio HCl and bleach 50 50 ratio HCl and peroxide, combined let cool filter add urea, smb, to precipitate, and add straight clear ammonia it will precipitate more and help separate the gold from the acids used . add water to solution to help precipitate let's sit , till clear Rinse well with water to reomve the ammonia. Boil the precipitate and rinsed portion after siphon, decanting down to precipitate dry precipitate and melt the oxidide.

I was in my summer house . Wether was wet and cold I get sick.but I got some rocks and tomorrow start agen working on rocks.I not happy with results I got using chemicals .in my rocks gold contains a lot of silver and I can’t dissolve all the gold silver is the problem so I going back to mercury to recover gold and silver .
