The greatest part of this song, in my opinion, was the glorification of curvier figures at a time when the media was beginning to push a nearly impossible body type. This song came out in 1978, while the average size of women was increasing and the media began to heavily feature dangerously thin waistlines. Queen was WAY ahead of their time in the idea of self-love and self-acceptance.

The band was upset that they didn’t get to see it being filmed. Freddie wrote the song, inspired after see the Tour de France come through. Brian May wrote Fat Bottomed Girls.

Check out Queen's thrash metal song, "Stone Cold Crazy". This might be one of the first thrash metal songs. Metallic even covered it.

Love your channel bro! You always put a smile on my face when you do a song reaction! The album this song comes from is called Jazz. I have the original vinyl version which included a fold out poster of a couple of dozen naked women getting ready to ride their bicycles. As one of your other posters mentioned, the songs Bicycle Race and Fat Bottom Girls are indeed back to back on the album.

YES! Queen kills it every time. Freddie’s vocals are always outstanding. PLEASE can you do a reaction (or just listen) to ‘Cool Cat.’ It’s a great song. I’ve not seen anyone react to it before, maybe because it’s not a single. It’s from the album ‘Hot Space.’ Very different and I think it’s fantastic. Hope you enjoy it💜

😂😂 ba-donk-a-donk!! Left alone with big fat fanny!! I love your reaction. As a woman with (what’s been labeled as )a bubblebutt and being self conscious about it, this song always made me feel good😂

If you like queen then you should check out “innuendo” one of their better songs in my opinion
