@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 the impact a band or a song has can be overwhelming when you see how it affects others, when you get a chance watch greenday concert 2017 at Hyde Park, bohemian rhapsody was being played over speakers and the entire crowd sang along..it was either before greenday took the stage or during an intermission...it's chilling and spectacular

I can clearly see that!!! I didn’t even think there were other performers after watching them. 🙃 They are incredible and so legendary it’s ridiculous.

When they went off stage, they met the next act after them, David Bowie. They were good friends and he jokingly said "bastards" because he didn't know how anyone could follow their act.

I honestly can see what you mean. Because after doing so many different reactions I can see the clear difference in their music compared to others. It's so brilliant how they created their own style and sound that I HAVE NEVER HEARD from anyone else. I also think because all members of Queen are superstars and very talented. I can agree that Queen is the best rock group of all time. In my opinion. :)

That's just what I thought as well. He was covering an Elvis song because he was on point. I have been such a huge music fans since the early 90s and I can not believe I am just discovering all of this about Queen. Shame on me. But, it's kind of a good thing because it's giving me a chance to become a bigger fan. It amazes me the layers of this man's vocals. Thank you again for your insightful comment and watching. ALL very good suggestion! I’d like to add DRAGON ATTACK live in Montreal ‘81. In case no one told you... that was NOT a Queen audience. Queen was not announced as playing at Live Aid, as they decided to perform after publicity was done. Every group/singer had 20 minutes only, that’s why some songs were shortened. Also, Freddie sang against his Dr’s advice, as he had a throat infection. Please stay warm and safe out there in Texas! 😊🙏

It was not in New York where he wrote CLTCL, it was in a Hotel in München (Munich).

WOW. The talent that Freddie had was way beyond my knowledge. After watching and the Bohemian Rhapsody movie for the first time this month. I am sold. QUEEN is the GREATEST band of all time. I mean that. I have not even heard or watched everything from them yet and here I am already a believer. :) That's very interesting about the demo. You all must be so grateful to have grow up and able to really experience all of this when it organically took place. I can only imagine. Thank you so much all of the insight on Queen. I’m only 31 haha so wasn’t around for it either. 😂 I’m also glad the movie pulled you in even further, but please know that it’s quite inaccurate. The band never broke up - Freddie wasn’t even the first one of them to go solo (Roger had two solo albums by that point). They did have disagreements (they argued a lot, but Freddie actually said that’s what kept the band together, since they all were strong and got a say) and pursued individual things, but there was never a time where they all weren’t talking or anything like that. Roger even sang backup for Freddie’s solo song “The Great Pretender” and appeared in the music video. They were very close. Freddie did get a much bigger financial advance for his album which likely caused tension and he was negatively influenced by Paul Prenter in the mid-80s, but Brian and Roger themselves said only a week after he died and was getting attacked by the (homophobic and especially AIDS-phobic) media for his lifestyle that he was never consumed by drugs or out of control. They called him kind, generous, and incredibly loyal to his friends (though he did love to party and had some wild, almost legendary times for sure). But seriously, what 80s rock star didn’t? No straight ones get attacked for it, even ones with multiple arrests and abuse allegations. No one in Queen has ever been arrested or accused of anything like that. All truly good guys. 👍 Also, they had toured just a couple of months before Live Aid (the whole notion that they hadn’t performed together in years is just completely made up). I do see how it creates drama and it did revitalize their career at a time when they weren’t sure how to move forward together, but yeah. Some of their biggest performances - like Rock in Rio - happened earlier that same year. Freddie also didn’t know his diagnosis until 2 years after Live Aid, in 1987. He found out shortly after their 1986 Magic Tour. “The Days of Our Lives” documentary on KZfaq is a much more accurate and factual look at Queen! (And this isn’t as important, but Freddie also didn’t just randomly introduce himself to the band one night and audition - they all knew each other, and Freddie went to many of Smile’s shows. He was roommates with Roger and they ran a fashion stall together. He’d also been in other bands and musical pursuits himself, starting back at boarding school in India. He didn’t just randomly start singing one day, hahaha).

I've also read that during Queen's set, the live audience attending the American Live Aid counterpart in Philadelphia ALSO followed along to all of Freddie's prompts with the sing-and-call back, the Radio GaGa clapping etc!

Thank you!!!!! That song for Elvis caught me completely off guard but, was so fulfilling. :) I never knew how freaking amazingly talented he was behind the scene. I love his voice. I really had a hard time trying to pay attention to his vocals, the song, the band and the production all at once for the first time. LOL. But, they are brilliant musicians. I did catch some of the crowds reactions. To be honest, I thought the concert was only for Queen until I read the comments from you guys. They seems like they were Queen's fans. LOL. I plan on catching up to as many Queen songs, albums and more concerts soon. It's been so worth it.

It wasn't just the 75K there. The crowd at Philadelphia and all of us watching at any TV that was on were doing the same. People in stores were stopping and caught up in Freddie's grip. This was more than a monumental concert. It was a monumental piece of history for everyone, in my generation anyways.

I know that's what everyone is saying about Freddie writing Crazy Little Thing Called Love but I watched Elvis Presley sing that song on a black and white TV. Elvis Presley sang it in the 60's don't know why people are saying otherwise. Some say it's an impersonator but there weren't any Elvis impersonators in the 60's because there was no need to, he was still alive and young.

Hey Aletha!!!! Hope all is well. Funny thing is. I've always loved Under Pressure since I was kid. But, I never knew it was Queen. When I realized that it was Queen I lost it. These guys are in a whole different lane to themselves. I will defiantly check out that performance soon. I saw the Bohemian Rhapsody movie the other day for the first time and I was done. OMG!!!!!!! No, he did NOT know he had AIDS during this performance. He was HIV positive and didn't know. The movie changed ALOT of things. Freddie wasn't diagnosed with HIV til late 1986, and wasn't diagnosed with AIDS til Spring of 1987.

After Live Aid, QUEEN toured with Freddie all through Europe in 1986. It was called the Magic Tour - a grueling tour consisting of about 26 shows in France, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland, West Germany (at the time, Germany was still divided in 2 by the Berlin Wall), Belgium, Hungary (which was under Communist control at the time), and other countries as well. Most of the time, the band played more than one show in each country. The tour ended in the UK with two shows at Wembley which were totally sold out and one concert outdoors at Knebworth where I read that 150,000 people attended. There are videos on youtube of the full concert in Budapest, Hungary and the 2 concerts at Wembley. They are great concerts!

Wow. What a time to be alive back then to experience that. Just hearing those stories really makes me happy and proud of them. I love Freddie’s confidence and attitude. Elton John followed them on stage. He was not ready to take the stage after their performance. He did agreat job but nothing could top this performance. Truly sorry for your loss. Us Queen fans hurt with you. One family!

The crowd bought their tickets for Live Aid before Queen agreed to perform so 72.000 people at Wembley weren't necessary 👑 fans, but 100% they became after those historical 20 minutes. It was said that for those 20 minutes different 👑 ruled England. ❤
