The Japanese monarchy is much older than the British throne. The Japanese emporer is descended from shinto Gods according to Japanese culture. The title emporer is not referred to territory as in the European sense but in a spiritual celestial sense. He is practically a living embodiment of a heavenly spirit.

KOJI-KI is Japan's first history book, which was written and completed in 712 A.D.. This book writes Japan (and its emperor) has its own history since around 600 B.C. , that the the imperial family's first ancestor began the country (by coming from the sky to the ground). Followings are the emperor names and the ages that they passed away. They are all written in KOJI-KI; 001 Jimmu 130yrs (approx)

Emperor Showa himself had visited the UK when he was still crown prince, and that was one of his fondest memories, spending some time with the Queen's father, George VI who was the Duke of York at the time. You also have to remember that until 1923, Japan had a military alliance treaty with the UK as well. British forces also didn't engage in direct combat with the Japanese as much, which shows when put in contrast to his reception in the U.S. with Nixon.

I as a Japanese feel bewildered when foreigners say our tennnou as an "emperor". The word emperor connotes strong power for me, in contrast, the japanese tennou family have been survived for thousands of years as a head of Japan because they have almost no actual power to be able to reign the country by themselves. They are politically just a figurehead and their role is to give authority to power of the time.

Do we need to mention the massacre everytime the Emperor involves in a video? I don't think so... Acknowledging a fact and mentioning it are different things.

Just before the Nanjing war, about 200,000 Nankin residents escaped into safe areas. It is close to 90% of the residents who lived in Nanking then. In other words, you can see that the question of China's side that 300 thousand to 400 thousands were slaughtered at this stage is doubtful. There is also a theory that the Japanese army was handed down considering consideration for prisoners of war, such as giving tobacco and food to prisoners rather than slaughter, strictly forbidding access to non-officials to violence and refugees camps. Do you see such actions against people who slaught from now? It is said that the arrest of the soldier, execution has been said to have triggered the so-called Nanjing case, but since they did not know whether they could be disarmed or not, there is a possibility that they were executed without execution. Moreover, from the examination of the evidence photograph, the possibility that the slaughter was caused by the Kuomintangi army led by Shuzenba Stone, not the Japanese army, has come to light. Regarding the truth of the incident, there are still many things that have not yet been elucidated.

Yep, he should have never made it past the 40s. Japan in WW2 abused British soldiers so badly and yet history never teaches of Japanese atrocities.

if he was made a war criminal by the allies the occupation and democratization of Japan would have never worked as well as it did. you also must live under a rock if you think history never teaches of Japanese war crimes.
