I think that a lot of the older bands that are making this move are do so that their children/families won't have to deal with a huge mess when they eventually pass away. They are cashing out and saving their families years of headaches and years in courtrooms.

Queen Is WAY bigger and famous, that's a fact (personally I'm more into KISS). I think the price of over 1 billion Is completely fair, as It was the one paid for KISS' music haha

well the people are getting old, its either sell it or leave it to to kids and family who dont know how to deal with publishing. This way they also get to leave def sums of money to family instead of them getting bits and pieces

I see it completely differently. The songs were always there. Every "Best Of" show / radio, streaming platform always has a lot of Queen songs and Bohemian Rapsody wins. The film was never needed for that. That's the real greatness of knowing a song without recognizing the composer. The Prisoner Choir, the Triumph March, The Bolero knows everyone but probably not the composer.

That's AWESOME! About time QUEEN gets the respect they deserve, for the longest time I'd tell people about Queen being awesome... Time is proving me right for a change 🤣.... Back to the Light was awesome, and so was Another World. As far as Roger Taylor's solo stuff Happiness? is pretty damn good but not as awesome as Bri's stuff!

It’s disgusting that the rights to this music should be sold to faceless money-men. It’s also an unmitigated disaster in how inappropriately their music will be used in the future. The banks who buy it, because thats who will, will do nothing more than milk it for all its worth.

As I always say Queen is a rock band for those who hate rock music. Just a reason for them to say at a picnic "I love rock music too, Queen for instance". So, no surprise they sold their calague for so much. They're the perfect act for random "I-love-rock-too" guys in their 60s after all :) Nah, more power to them, even though Elton John is more of a rock act than Queen.
