I love Julian the reason is because he’s original I’m not saying the other characters aren’t Ty is also original but Julian is his own person who has an evil side that will strive if it wasn’t for Emma and his family he’s just so complex while Emma is just a girl version of Jace, We saw how Julian is without feeling he doesn’t know when he stop which is so interesting ( This is just my opinion but yeahhh)

i still don’t understand how you don’t like julian as a character or find him flat. I completely respect that it’s your opinion but wow it just shocks me when people say that because i think julian is such a complex character, and has a somewhat darker plot line than previous male protagonists in her book. i just love his character so much and i think emma and him as a couple are so good that sometimes i see them more as one than even a couple which sounds so cliche, but they’re just better together than anything else. it’s refreshing to hear another point of view, though, i just find it so shocking

I still can’t get over how well written this book was tbh. I was someone who really struggled to get into the books because I personally didn’t love the first books in the mortal instruments series. But I fell in love with the infernal devices series and then I read city of heavenly fire and I was like oh shit okay nvm her writing is getting really good now. And with each new book I’m just blown away with how much her writing has improved and how well done this series was. It’s really crazy thinking back to how passive I was about the first books and how much I fucking love this series. I used to be one of those people who wasn’t interested in the books at all because of all the controversy around Clare and the over abundance of jace and clary stuff that I didn’t really care about. And now I’m here sobbing my heart out about these books. Like the characters are all so complex and so well written and the relationships between all the characters are just so amazing I love them all with my entire heart. Like I feel like so many people won’t believe me or listen to me about how good this book is because of the rep the moral instruments gets and I don’t know how to explain to people how much this series improves and how amazing the later books are. Ahhh I totally feel you on the Julian thing though. I feel the exact same. Like I honestly just don’t really get why everyone loves him so much. Like he’s fine. And I really like Emma a lot but like.. idk he just seems really bland to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ the only times I’m like aww I like Julian is cute moments with him and his siblings cause I love them all so much but it’s not really about Julian cause I don’t really care about him that much either way 😂

ahahahaa "I don't really care about Emma and Julian's relationship" same here-- I like them as characters (well, Julian... meeehhhh I'm a little mixed on him), though I did find some of the stuff going on with them in this book more interesting. But the highlights are def the other relationships for me lol like Kieran Mark and Christina? Kit and Ty? Soooo cute!

It seems like Ash can open portals between worlds, since he has super special blood powers and such, we clearly have not seen the end of Thule Livvy. I'm betting my right arm she is gonna travel between worlds, maybe to pursue Thule Jace before he wrecks havoc in the established world. Remember, hes CoLS Jace, several years older. Creating the endarkned was his idea. As long as he is in the established world, he is a brokerage of the rules and can/will be as evil as Sebastian himself. Maybe even more so, since Sebastian seemed to ground him at times...

I definitely understand where people come from when they don’t like Julian. I wouldn’t say I like him, I wouldn’t say I don’t like him, but I understand and emphasize with him. Here’s why: He’s essentially a parent, and he would do anything for his “kids”. I am also a parent, and can completely relate to the protectiveness he feels for the kids, because I also would stop at nothing to protect my children. I’ve been reading Cassie’s books for so long, like most of us, and I’ve grown up with the characters and I find it really fascinating and impressive that Cassie has managed to continue to give me characters I relate so heavily to, even though I’m in my mid-twenties now and I’m married and a mother, I can still read these books and be totally enthralled by them. Side note, the way she uses the Shadowhunter world to reflect current issues in our own society is amazing.

The last novella of Ghosts of the Shadow Market so far reveals Tessa being pregnant. To be honest, I find it funny you find it so shocking, but mostly because every story I've read regarding Jem and Tessa they are always having sex. Like, my reaction was "Of course you are," which I don't know if it's bad my first reaction was that

I was so thrown by the whole Thule plot when it happened until I remembered we’d already seen the alternative universe thing in COHF. It was a major thing even, but I totally forgot about it.

Okay I honestly do not understand how a person goes through three huge 700 paged books and still lack connection to the two main characters 😂 I absolutely love Emma and Julian from the bottom of my heart. I feel that Julian is the best character that CC has ever written because he has so many layers to him and his personality is so crystal clear. I personally haven’t read any book that has a character like that, by FAR. And even though Emma is kind of a generic badass YA protagonist, it’s so hard not to get attached to their love story. I respect your opinion but I do not understand your POV at all 😂 their story kills me. I was broken and joined together again numerous times throughout the duration of this trilogy. It’s forever going to have my heart.

It's been a while I read the TDA trilogy and watching to your reaction to it just made realize I don't remember a lot of things that happened lol these books contain too much information, too many events, but when you're reading it just makes so much sense

I'm not gonna lie I cried on and off from the moment the Blackthorns walked out to Emma and Julian while they were giants until the end of the bonus story with Clary and Jace (aka I was crying for like 90% of the last like 150 pages). And that's saying something because I pretty much NEVER cry at books. I lost it the most at Alec and Magnus' proposal and wedding. This book just hit different.

I loved this book so much! My only small hiccup is about the end, the whole Thule!Jace and Ash doesn’t seem to revolve around ty, kit, or dru which the next series is about. It seems like a very clary and normal Jace story and not a blackthorn story.

I loved watching this vlog, I was an emotional basket-case through most of this book too. Any mention of Will Herondale I was practically on the floor sobbing. When alt-Tessa died in Thule I honestly nearly had a heart attack. Tessa is my favourite CC character of all time, I ADORE her and if anything bad happens to her I genuinely won't be able to take it. Any time Magnus or anyone vaguely mentioned the past I was like "WILL THIS HAPPEN IN THE LAST HOURS???" See when Jem was saying that he once saw a Shadowhunter being stripped of their marks and he could never do it again, WHO WAS HE TALKING ABOUT??? That hasn't happened in some novella, right? I haven't read them all. I'm already stone cold obsessed with all the characters in TLH and if it's any of them I won't survive. The Magnus/Alec proposal and wedding slayed my entire existence, I was sobbing. Mark/Kieran/Cristina's relationship was also beautiful, I loved it and them so much. I was fairly indifferent towards Julian before this book too, but I did end up liking him more in QoAaD, but I totally get how you feel! If Jem and Tessa have a girl and name her Willow or something, I swear I will lose my sweet mind. Or if they have a boy and call him Will of course, although I kind of hope it's a girl. I can't wait to see Ty/Kit's reunion in The Wicked Powers, I'm intrigued to see what the Scholomance is like. I ended up giving the book 5 stars because how could I not, but I didn't really like the whole alternate universe thing because that's opening up too much/complicating things too much if there's two versions of everyone (I know a lot of the alternate characters are dead or different in Thule but still). I felt like it was too much of a call back/fan service to bring back Sebastian and I don't know how alt-Jace will factor into all of this. I get why she included it because it was important to the plot, but I don't know how much I like it. I have more to say but I should stop now, sorry for this ridiculously long comment but it was a 900-page book in fairness.
