Gukesh name is Gukesh Dharmaraju. It's a traditional south indian name. Not Gukesh D. Indian names should be completely stated and not meant to suit the whites convenience . It's a name common among the south indian Tamil and Telugu population

Thanks for showing this game, sometimes drawn games are more spectacular than desicive ones. This is a gem. Fun training position as well. 😀

Excellent lesson, well played game. When I started learning the game, it always fascinated me the games with uneven forces. I worked hard in studying those games from every grandmaster, seeing the amazing coordination of the minor pieces or rook and minor piece against queen.

Great video! Reminded me of the famous game by Smyslov where he anchored the pieces. I think it was round 14 wc match vs botvinnik. Anyway its cool to see the same themes still hold up!

Indeed fascinating. In the end white had to give his queen, pinned by blacks early Bg4 , followed by blacks Qc8 for a rook and 2 minor pieces. Though wihout pawn cover for his king white with Bd4 nicely stabilzeded his position. Quite instructive. Thanks Mr. King.

A fantastic game. You don't see a queen swap for tree minor pieces very often. Too bad the game ended with repetition.

When I started playing chess I exclusively played italian variations, so I've been in the 5:27 sort of position alot. The knight on f3 is always a reoccurring problem that I've had trouble dealing with. I feel frozen. Moving the queen and comprising the pawn structure or g4 feels suicidal. I pretty much always bring the other knight to e2.

Good fighting draws are quite enjoyable. This looks like a fair result.

3 pieces for the Queen isn't really a sacrifice. Rook and Knight is complex.

I wonder if Gukesh should have consolidated more instead of bringing the rook to C7. Great game

8:37 this variation for black is definitely not for me. Black is a whole piece down! Therefore it requires some insanely sharp attacking and defending moves, otherwise black will quickly lose.

Excellent and thought provoking game. I wonder why the knight on b5 can not take the pawn on d6 and hit the rook, followed by retreat to the d4 square. Of course this is something Gukesh looked at and did not choose so it must be a mistake for some reason. It's a shame when such an dynamic position winds down to a draw. Someone deserves to win such a game. Thank you.

I find it sad that a game like this ends in a draw. But not blaming anyone, it is the nature of chess.

No, it's the nature of computer preparation. This has nothing to do with human chess. I don't like it.

That is the nature of positions where one side is long term slightly better(white) but other side has continuous perpetual treats(black)

As far as chess perfection is concerned, a drawn game has the potential to hold more beauty than a won one, for two players responding correctly to each other will always be superior to just one. Sometimes the wonderful combination doesn’t need to be forced on the board, but remains best treasured in the invisible implications

it's disgusting that there are games like these with so much preperation invovled. makes me think perhaps fischer random SHOULD be the standard.

I really like how chess is building up a history, You'd lose that with 960. I wouldn't like to play against such prep, but I have no fear I will be invited to Wijk aan Zee anytime soon. To me this is the chess equivalent of Nadal serving with 200km/hour. Fun to watch, not fun to play against
