Listening to Josh talk is the best thing ever. He's so calming and you can tell he's very passionate about his music to the point he almost seems like he doesn't know how to put it into words but when he does he says something so profound. Then classic Josh Homme happens and he says something to turn everything into a joke or a nonanswer and makes you laugh

This creepy album will stand the test of time. One of THEE most powerful/sinister discs of the past 20 years, for sure.

I think Era Vulgaris is WAY better than Lullabies. This album feels like an album Josh made for dudes who want to fuck Vampire chicks who shop at hot topic and dress as "Bad kitties" for Halloween. Its kinda a creeper album. That's why its by fav my least favorite of their albums. Even including what Trump called a "jawl whack dog" album "Billians". Era Vulgaris has "Turning on the Screw", Into the Hallow", "Suture Up Your Future", "River in the Road", "3's & 7's", "Sick Sick Sick" and "Make it with Chu". Also Joey Castillo finds his sounds and personality on Era.
@439Carter7 жыл бұрын
I don't really think its sinister, more creeping on teenage hot topic girls sinister.

@@439Carter yeah I definitely like Era better. to each his own, but Lullabies is my least favorite album of theirs - not to say it's bad by any means, it's still a great album.

I don't want to say it's the best, but it's just perfect. It gets me thinking in a take-to-a-desert(ed)-island type o'mood... I mean, it's good that we don't have to choose. Even "Era Vugaris" or "...Like Clockwork" - there are days when I'm just in the mood for "that"...

Really?, I found this record to be the most exciting and I didn't start with it. It really generates so many great breeds. Love jamming some lullabies to headphones. It's like a better rated r to me. But still love the others so much as well.

Fucking love this album. I'm so glad Qotsa worked with Billy. I got into ZZ right around the time I got into Qotsa. Thier first album was so heavy and demonic. I was surfing then and was learning alot about stoner rock. Qotsa saved my life.Finding this band was a deeply religious for me and was my medicine when Curt died.I found Rocky Ericsons music while deployed in Afghanistan and wondered how Josh, Billy and Rocky could be that connected. Its fucking crazy. Keep rockin out dudes. If they ever legalize prostitution in American. I'm gonna fuck alot of hookers to your music.Im currently finding a way to play in Europe but this fucking RONA is putting a halt on shit.

the album descends into darkness and gets more and more loose as it goes on. that's the point. even the weirdest songs are killer. skin on skin and killer scene and broken box are great. then it ends on long slow goodbye. such a grand, epic album. just listen to it more. all of the first 5 albums are perfect with deaf being the best.

I dont get why this album is considered weak for qotsa - i think its wayy better than era vulgaris! (although it should be a ten track album- it should end on "the blood is love") it was my second favourite until - "Like Clockwork" came out(SFTD Being the first) If you take it as a ten track it flows brilliantly - perhaps the best flowing out of all of there albums(meaning the songs sit together very well when played in sequence) - i am very much a fan of Albums tho - i think the younger generation misses out on that due to iphones and the dreaded random setting : (

I think you're my favorite QotSA fan... Except Broken Box and Long, Slow Goodbye are essential songs...
@laiban10 жыл бұрын
laiban also, I think SFTD is their weakest, but that's because it was the first one I heard and the only one for a long time. I wore that one out... not saying it's bad. Not at all. But saying it's the weakest of the Queens' work isn't really saying much...
@TheFesta0110 жыл бұрын
laiban Songs for the deaf is amazing - a classic, but i know what you mean about wearing it out - i rarely listen to it now because of that, i am already getting to that point with "Like Clockwork" i have listened to it constantly since its release - I Appear Missing - is a triumph of songwriting!
@verydirtyflow9 жыл бұрын
spot on. i can't honestly say i have a favourite of theirs but i always felt this album felt like more of a collection of songs rather than an album (great songs at that!). i kinda felt like a better produced and honed dessert sessions

I'm of the belief that Era Vulgaris deserves much more love than it seems to get. The bass track on 'Turnin' on the Screw' alone is worth the price of admission for me. But they're all great albums in my mind.
