Geoff and Chris both trained extensively with Maestro David Kyle, not surprising Todd would seek out the same techniques. Anyone else catch that he didn't reach for the highest note in the final chorus? Very well done. RIP Chris.

Still tough to swallow...there's not one bad song Chris ever wrote no matter who he was fronting. Gonna miss that dude!
@colbyperry33257 жыл бұрын
Jeff Fry his Scream album was actually terrible. But everything else was great
@frybrain68097 жыл бұрын
Colby Perry guess I never heard that one, I stand corrected. There was a time in my life where I spent a while in the desert eating peyote.
@colbyperry33257 жыл бұрын
Jeff Fry definitely not some music you would want to eat peyote to, it's like if Chris tried to make some one republic/maroon 5 poppy shit
@chanchaokiitos11847 жыл бұрын
Colby Perry The songs were good, just the production sucks. There's some "Band" versions of some of those songs on youtube.

I still respect Chris for making the album even if it wasn't for everyone. It showed that the man did not let genres limit him.

Thank you, Todd, for not doing Black Hole Sun... and for choosing such an epic song as this!
@Stsilascousteau7 жыл бұрын
rocknrollboise Agreed.
@ferretocious7 жыл бұрын
Most bands were doing Black Hole Sun as it's an easy song to sing with little range. Only singers with true chops can attempt a song like this! He did this brilliantly!
@valerio12927 жыл бұрын
focusing on vocal range for a farewell tribute.. really? let's appreciate the gesture, and chris's songs were all tough, for standards at least
@chriswilson19687 жыл бұрын
rocknrollboise Most tributes I've seen so far have not been Black Hole Sun lol I've seen I am The Highway, Outshined, Like a Stone, Hunger Strike....

Each day I see at least 20 new tributes from such a huge range of artists across the planet, and it's almost like losing a little piece of Chris all over again yet healing at the same time. It's very bittersweet to be reminded of the tragedy of what happened to him and also be warmed by the knowledge that he had such a profound impact on so many people and is being sung to sleep in heaven by his own genius creations all over the globe. RIP, you beautiful legend.

Dude..... silent lucidity?? :) Most tributes I saw are really struggling to reach Chris' notes... dammnnn such an amazing talent!
@Morganstudios7 жыл бұрын
Jeppoyy G Different singer. Silent Lucidity was Geoff Tate. If you want examples of his range, check out "Speak" or "Queen of the Reich". I don't even know the new singer's name. He seems more versatile than Geoff, and probably can easily rock the high notes of Queen of the Reich. Chris had an equally impressive range. I'm not sure I've ever searched for his highest note before. Jesus Chris Pose comes to mind as a possibility.
@Morganstudios7 жыл бұрын
Jeppoyy G and I think people use Silent Lucidity as an example of Geoff's low end. He doesn't go very high in that song. I like "Speak" because you can hear both high and low in that one. Queen of the Reich is just high, the highest, when he was young, and before smoking had screwed him up somewhat. But again, Geoff isn't in this video. Maybe I'll research this new guy sometime.

I have been viewing all the wonderful and thoughtful tributes to Chris from all different artists and bands. This Queensryche rendition of Say Hello To Heaven is absolutely the best one thus far. Todd's voice is amazing already and then to sing this song blew my mind. Goosebumps just listening to the raw passion and commitment to sing the song just like Chris would... Queensryche you did a splendid tribute to Chris. Chris - Rest In Peace...We will miss you and your wonderful persona and incredible singing voice.
