I mean I can agree with running it in shaman because it can help with quest completion and is a river croc at worst (u dont need value in that deck) however it's best played on turn 2 and guess what druid wants to do on turn 2, not use 2 mana so I think it's bad in druid for sure

The good thing about quest explorer (in this deck) is that the battlecry doesn't activate with shudderwock, when a lot of times you're close to fatigue. If you manage to draw before finishing the quest, of course

It's an amazing early game card and even just being a 2/3 that does nothing is not the worst thing to play because at that point you should be ahead since your quest is complete.

I thought the same and tried it, it isa good idea in principle but I haven't had the right conditions often enough. Always the chance with Vulp, Hag & Lackey to pull it.

@UC4DTHeKf_RgxBQob3shamSQ works if you draw mc-tech and get good steals, preferably while you have a board. Besides, quest shamans run murlocs as well as a few other decks, giving some good tempo. Some games I eat a sludge, sometimes with double battlecries and get a 5/6, which is fair for the low cost or I just fit the crab to fill my curve and complete the quest. It's a cheap battlecry, so it's always ok in the early game just to complete the quest. Turn 5 murloc spell can get pretty nasty if they have a good early game.

Lotsa skill? To me it seemed like they just play on curve, put two and two together removal wise and win with insane card advantage.

@@HighLanderPonyYT Sure, you can sometimes just curve out without much thought and win. But there's a lot of discover and in some version even some random card generation. There may be many solutions to any board state and many reasonable options from discover. It is also a bit tricky some turns to properly calculate costs and damge. You also play very differently depending on your opponent. You're a defensive/control deck vs murloc pal, quest pal, zoo. An aggro/zoo deck against some control/combo decks. A value/otk deck against control warriors. All your discovers and value plays shift around heavily as well as how you treat your minions. You don't need skill to play the deck, but to play it well you definitely do.

Is that unusual? If you're playing two in a quest deck and mulling for it, every card you see is at worst 2 out of 29 to be questing, and you're seeing 2 starting cards + 2 mulligan cards + 2 draw steps for 6 chances to find a questing by turn 2, and that's on the play.

@@Alucula I dont mull for it specifically. There's several 2-cost cards total but this one seems to show up the most by a large margin.

If my math hasn't completely rotted away: On the play, if you mull anything but quest or adventurer, you have a ~38% chance to have it by turn 2 (6 cards looked at), and on the draw that chance is 48% (8 cards looked at). If nothing is up with the card (and I doubt it) you should have a ~48% chanse of drawing at least one of two cards in your first 8 cards looked at (based on you running a quest).

"Feels like" means it's the selective memory bias. You remember the times you had it, but not so much the times you didn't. This happens more with cards that you don't NEED to win. If you immediately lost the game where you didn't have it, you'd remember not having it a lot more.

It does stack, but if you're referring to the part at 6:30, the reason Trump says it "does work" is because casts The Storm Bringer before Ancestral Spirit, which is good because transformation removes enchantments like Ancestral Spirit, but then he realizes that if he uses the double battlecry hero power before he plays the Horror, it will cast Stormbringer -> Ancestral Spirit -> 2nd Stormbringer which removes the first Ancestral Spirit ->2nd Ancestral Spirit. Playing that Horror with the hero power wouldn't really be any different from playing it without the hero power.

and thats why you should learn to make your own decks and stop copying everyone else. thats the biggest problem with HS imo. the meta is settled in days cuz evryone just copy and paste nowadays,.not me. i like to get value from my collection of cards....i use them even if some are bad..lol

Shaman can most definitely use more value on the early bits of the game. Card draw is good. Card draw that furthers your quest on a battlecry that doesn't trigger off shudderwok when you're worried about fatigue by that point against warrior is a VERY big deal.

@@CrypticSilhouett Yeah but Shaman doesn't need the value through draw. Between Lackeys and all the discover stuff my hand is usually chock full all game. I got Warrior covered I just shoved an Archivist in my deck. :D Right now my main problems are big summon mage and quest paladin. Started to experiment with Plague of Murlocs as a mass devolve. Not much else you can do when Pally starts cloning those eggs and dragon mech death rattles.

@@jakubskonieczny5750 You guys must have a different build than I do. I use the 3/3 that bounces a card back and gives it +2/2. With that, you can double up on the Horrors, or stuff like the 1/1 that summons a 5/5. Even stuff like Sludge Slurper get a lot of mileage in the deck.

@@TheFuzzician I don't have the deck, I hate it because it does unfair stuff and completing quest is way to easy with lackys. But when I play against them I try to pressure them as hard as possible (not even with aggro deck) I'm close to winning because they have like 2-3 cards and below 15 hp and than they shudderwock and I lose because after that I never seen shaman losing.

I've played the deck quite a bit. Lackeys and Sandstorm Elemental help a lot in the early game, I haven't had much trouble with aggro

It's not an unwinnable matchup by any means, but it relies on some luck without it. Getting the quest completed by the time they drop the Tip the Scales lets you counter with hero power + Sandstorm Elemental to clear 80% of the board and then mop up with any minions you'd left on the board. Alternatively, getting some spell lackeys early on lets you discover aoe which has won me several matches against them. Lastly, hero power + 1 or 2 mind control techs can be a strong counter to Tip the Scales as well, once again mopping up with any leftover minions you had from their Prismatic Lens turn. Mogu Fleshshaper is also great to help mop up the Tip the Scales turns since he's a 0 mana play into that board. So all in all, the lightning storm is a bit more reliable for clearing Tip the Scales, but as long as you can get an early quest completion you'll have several other options available. And winrates drastically improve if they don't get Prismatic Lens on 4. If Murloc Paladin becomes a huge deck in the meta, it might be worth teching the lightning storm, but until then I'm happy with my other options.

Usually I find if they're getting it on 5, I've got the board. They'd have had to cast Prismatic Lens on 4 which gives you time to gain tempo and take the board. That said, if you get a slow start and can't catch up then the lightning storm could certainly be a life saver.

I play Tip Pally, doubled Sandstorm fks me hard.

Don't need it when you're gonna burn them with battlecries anyway.

Thing is it's in a weird spot for shaman since you finish the quest so quickly that its just a 2/3 for 2. For other classes where the quest isn't done. It's good. Even then it's in a weird spot were you run it in a quest deck but becomes a dead 2/3 when you finish the quest. ( Which you will because it's a quest deck.)

Last expansion token druid was tier one and unless you were present or had an account during the free snip-snap giveaway you had a very cheap tier one deck.

Yes I had the same feeling. I have 3 decks right now: Quest Rogue (only Tess required), Quest Priest (Can do with only quest and rares) and Quest Paladin (legendary spell, Tyrion which is classic i guess everybody has). Now I look at like highlander hunter or sandwich mage and it blows my mind the number of legendaries any good deck requirs. Also I would like to recommand (if you don't have) replacing Siamat with 8 mana neutral 3/15 which kills smalls things multiple times. Less flexible but deals against aggro and that's the main concern because in value these control decks are just fine.

Yea, even aggro decks can have 3-4 leggos, 2-4 epics, and some rares in them nowadays. Before, you could run decks with 1-2 rares and nothing rarer. It's crazy.
