I REALLY love the fact that you respect your husband and want to make sure it's ok with him too. That is so awesome it shows you have great character.

Yes I agree. I am the same way. I will always include my husband. We are a team. If we have a happy marriage then we can provide a happy home for these children. Stability starts in your marriage first.

What level are they rated? They are asking for their care needs. I'm new, but I think it has to do with trauma and disabilities. Most of the time you have to have additional certifications to make sure you can provide adequate care for the children. If it is your first time as a foster parent, they don't typically place you with children needing extensive medical care. Before accepting a child who needs a feeding tube or around the clock medical care, they want to make sure you are knowledgeable, experienced, and can commit to their care.

What level are they rated? So, in our state, VA, the kids have a VEMAT score and that is a score showing their need for "extra care" above and beyond the monthly stipend...do they need counseling, therapy, extra supervision. I assume that that is what that commenter was talking about...

Interesting! Here in Michigan, children usually don't have that sort of information attached to their file when they are first placed in a foster home, but they do have a similar "needs ranking system" eventually, so that information might be available if a child is switching foster homes or is eligible for adoption. 💜

Hi Winter. I have been considering fostering and adopting, but am completely new to the idea. So I appreciate your channel as it is very informative. I have a quick question. I didn’t even realize until I saw another video of yours that the state pays you to foster. That’s cool. I was planning on doing it because I want to help kids, but the supplemental income would definitely be helpful in caring for the child even though I have a well paying job. My question is this: is the money that the state gives you for fostering considered a taxable income? Just seems counter productive for the government to pay a foster parent just to tax it so they get it back. So I was just wondering. Thanks again for your channel and for taking the time to read and respond to my question.

Yes, your reimbursement doesn’t need to be taxed! It doesn’t count as income. ❤️ good luck on your new journey!
