First 14 seconds is outside the Electric Ballroom in Camden. The gig footage is more likely to be inside the Ballroom than the Marquee, but 0'14 to 0'22 is a queue for a different show at the Marquee.

That version of Adam and the Ants never played the Marquee anyway.

The gig footage is Adam & The Ants @ Electric Ballroom 22nd May 1980 - opening night of the Ants Invasion 1980 UK tour, debut gig (other than a private rehearsal room show 4 nights earlier) of Adam & The Ants Mk2 with Marco and the two drummers. The song with the guitar at the end is visibly Press Darlings. Audio exists of the whole gig and it could potentially be matched up with the pictures.

This is great footage. I've had the May 1980 Ballroom recording since the 80's. Yeah, it would be great if the audio was matched up with this given the rarity of Antz footage.

I don't think that the gig shown INSIDE is at Marquee. No way was there so much clearance above the stage.

THE GIG FOOTAGE OF THE ANTS IS AT THE ELECTRIC BALLROOM, AND STILLS FROM IT WERE USED ON THE BACK OF THE SLEEVE FOR THE "KINGS" SINGLE RELEASE. VIVE LE ANTS !

Had you been in July 1978 at the Railway Hotel you had no queue and a fantastic Adam !!!! No pap pop shyte

If Adam had a decent record label in 1978 and not a bunch of idiots like Decca, you would have been calling his music back then a "pap pop style". You would be slagging off hit singles like Young Parisians, Friends, Boil In The Bag Man and Family Of Noise as cheap kiddy pop and calling Matthew Ashman a bratty kid in a suit who thinks he's Mick Ronson and you would be yearning for the good old days of Johnny Bivouac and Jordan. For what it's worth, the punks LOVED the gig in this film at the time in May 1980. They didn't start to turn on Adam until after the Kings album and Dog Eat Dog single both went Top 5 in November.

@@TheRockerxx69 You don't know me so how do you know where I was?.The Dirk album on Do It had a very thin under-recorded sound (a failed attempt to make a soul/funk record) and was criticised for this by a lot of fans at the time. At least the Decca recordings (when presented properly) sound reasonably like the heavy raunchy sound the Matthew-era Ants came out with at a live gig.
