Veg pulao recipe
Below is a simple vegetable pulao recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice
2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, etc., I like to use all the vegetables that are available at home.
1 inch ginger, grated
3-4 cloves garlic, minced and 1 whole garlic cleaner and washed
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 pack of Maggie magic masala
pinch of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
2 tablespoons ghee or oil
Salt to taste
2 cups water
Instructions:
Rinse the basmati rice in cold water and soak for 30 minutes. Drain the water.
Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, sliced onions(optional), green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes (optional) and cook until they are soft and the oil separates.
Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for a minute to enhance the flavors.
Add mixed vegetables and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add soaked and drained basmati rice. Mix well to coat the rice with spices.
Pour 2 cups of water, add salt, and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
Fluff the pulao gently with a fork. Serve hot with raita or yogurt.
