@@sanketgaonkar just do what he did in tutorial, and then duplicate layer. On upper layer remove all effects, and reduce the transparency on lower layer.

@@DjordjePivnicki yeah, looks like actual solution, but what if I wanna make it responsive to edits of my text so that my textbox gonna change its size? The only idea I have here is to parent 'Source Text' of our textbox layer to the 'Source Text' of our text layer. I also prefer to write "name;" expression to the 'Source Text'. Easy but not really. I have to reparent this stuff all the time. Let's say I'm making the subtitles to a long video, how can I optimize my workflow to make it even more faster? I have no idea, hah :) Oh man, after this comment I'm gonna jump into the sourceRectAtTime hell 🤯

I found a way that worked for me...I just added a 'Transform' Effect above 'CC Composite' in the effects stack. Set the opacity in 'Transform' to whatever you want. And then uncheck 'RGB Only' on the 'CC Composite' Effect. Hope it works for you too!

Love this thank you. If I also want to animate text on it works perfect if I keyframe Source Text. Doesn't work the same with no Source Text key framing and using only FX Typewriter with its Range Selector. The Text Box is full size to the complete text with no resizing to match the text. Am I doing something wrong?

Infortunately, when you resize the text, the "padding" doesn't resize together. This makes this techique unusable in a MOGRT file ! Do you have another technique for text resize?

With expression linking it seems like there is a way. Add an Expression Control>Slider Control. Then pickwhip the RepeTile and ShiftChannels: Compositing Options/Effect Opacity to that Expression Slider. To fix the text that is showing up repeated on the RepeTile expression I used this expression "effect("Box Opacity")("Slider")*.01" I think it's setting the text to be ever so slightly visible but on a white BG I'm not noticing it. So not perfect but a decent option it seems. You can also use an Expression Slider to control the Repetile settings so you have one slider adjusting the size.

Didnt fint a way to do it on the same layer, but an easy workaround would be this: Dublicate the layer and remove the effects for the top layer. Parent the source text of the bottom layer to the source text of the top layer. Then you can lower the opacity of the bottom layer to what ever you want. Lastly parent the two layers :-)
